Raymond Joseph Campbell, 74, of Butte, Montana, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024. He was born on January 20, 1950, in Butte Montana to, George Campbell and Amada Ramirez.
Ray eventually met Lori Ball, and they were married on August 25, 1984, in Butte Montana and they spent many years together until Lori passed away in 2017.
While growing up in Butte, Ray enjoyed working with his hands so much that he rebuilt his 1967 Chevy Truck. Ray would spend many weekends throughout the summers attending craft and car shows, but his greatest talent of all was being a homemaker.
Ray was always a bright light in the darkness of the world, and his personality was bigger than life. Any day of the week you could find Ray in his garage working on his truck, making sure it was in tip top shape. Ray also had a hobby of collecting hot wheel cars, he enjoyed going to the store multiple times a day looking for the elusive treasure hunt. Ray enjoyed harassing his friends and telling jokes and he had many accomplishments, but his biggest accomplishment was being a father.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, George Campbell and Amada Ramirez; his stepfather, Pedro Nieves; his wife, Lori Campbell; and his son, Ray Harding.
He is survived by his children, Jeanna (Billy) Maart of Florence, Trini Campbell of Missoula, Travis (April) Campbell of Missoula, Andrea Boyd (Justin Perusich) of Butte, Ryan (Ann) Campbell of Butte. Ray is also survived by his siblings, Freddy Nieves of Denver Colorado, Tomasita Nieves of Minneapolis Minnesota, Maria Nieves (Heath Barkell) of Butte, Elisa (Nathan) Mattioli of Billings, Pete Nieves (Stacey Edwards) of Butte, and Ben Sandoval of Butte. He will also be missed by his best friend and partner in crime, Bryan White, of Anaconda, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

We are so sorry about Ray. He was one of my brother, Loren’s friends .We enjoyed many pig roasts together. It is such a coincidence that they passed away 2 days apart. We all grew up together on the east side and attended Eastside reunions. He will be missed. Prayers and hugs to all his family. Robert and Sheila DeWitt
