Neil Macumber joined our lord in heaven on August 25th. He was born in Butte, Montana on July 23, 1941 to Harold and Georgia Macumber. Neil graduated from Butte High School in 1959 and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Brown. They shared 39 wonderful years together before her passing in 1998. He also attended Montana State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After working several years as an accountant in California, he returned to Butte to help run the family business, Brown’s Auto Parts. Neil married Nanci West in 2001 and had 18 joyous years together. Neil is lovingly remembered by his wife Nanci, sons Brad (Jodi) Macumber, Scott (Jennie) Macumber, stepchildren Heather (Cory) Casagrande, Heidi (Jason) McHugh, Dan (Amanda) Charon, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Neil is also survived by his sister LaVerne Henrich and brother Rick O’Donnell, and preceded in death by Linda Macumber, sister Virginia Macumber, and brothers Harold “Bud” Macumber and Don Macumber, and grandson Brady Charon.
A celebration of Neil’s life will be held at Aldersgate Methodist Church, 1621 Thornton Ave, Butte Mt. at 12PM on Saturday August 31st, followed by a reception at the McQueen Club, 3250 Hecla St. Donations can be made in Neil’s name to St. Patrick House, 501 W Alder St., Missoula, Mt.

Brad , Scott and Nancy, I ‘am so sorry for your loss! It’s my loss also ! Your Dad and Husband was a ” Saint ” to me ! He put up with my bull and yet forgave me, and I never was able to repay him enough for his kindness! But thats how he was ! I’ll always remember Uncle Neil’s gentle, soft-spoken manner. He was truly a gentleman. We’ll all miss him very much, but there is great comfort knowing he’ll be reunited with loved ones.
