Michael George Reynolds

Michael “Mike” Reynolds of Butte, Montana passed away tragically in a fire at his home on Montana Street. The Reynolds family has been part of the woven fabric of Butte for over 100 years. Many family members still remain in the Butte area. Mike’s parents were musicians in the area for years, playing music at weddings and local bars. Mike picked up playing the guitar at a young age as he carried on the family tradition, playing at different venues and even at the Rodeo with his good friend Larry. Mike spent many of his later years acting as caretaker of his father Earl who passed away in 2019. And while work did not define Mike, he made lots of friends at the many jobs he worked, most recently at the Hanging Five for several years. Mike was known to be a character, but a kind person. We will miss his fun sense of humor and teasing way. He loved camping and had many stories of his adventures in the great outdoors with his brothers and cousin Todd.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Lois and Earl Reynolds; and his brothers, Bob and Tom Reynolds.
He is survived by his sister, Pat (Len) Jacobsen of Bloomington MN; his brother, John (Helen) Reynolds of Butte; his sister, Barbara (Tom) of Spring Creek, NV; and his Aunt, Carol Reynolds of Butte; He will also be sincerely missed by many nieces , nephews, and cousins.
Also surviving Mike was his cat of many years, Spook, who was also caught in the fire but survived. He was rescued by the Dinius family, Mike’s neighbors, and was taken to Remember to Rescue at 35 Rose Lane, Butte MT 59701. We are asking in lieu of flowers, that any donations go to them as they are taking good care of Spook and will find him a new home.
Mike’s untimely death has left a true void in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held on June 23 from 2-5 p.m. at Uno’s reception hall at 3235 Harrison Ave. in Butte. No funeral services will be held.
