Lyle Robert Fatz, 56, of Missoula, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Lyle was an avid volunteer in the Missoula community. He loved attending local community sporting events and spent much of his leisure time at the movie theatre. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family, farming with his “brother” Brent Crawford, and working with his hands. Lyle was active in various volunteer fire departments. He was gifted with the ability to engage with everyone and was generous with his time and talents. Lyle made every person he met feel like they were a close friend.
Lyle is survived by his two sisters Jane (Fatz) Buxengard, and Dorothy (Pete) vonHoltum of St Ignatius; two children, Jacob Fatz and Maria Fatz of Detroit Lakes, MN; nephews Luke and Paul Fatz, Bill von Holtum; nieces Laura Buxengard, Katy vonHoltum; and Ann and Brent (Karina) Crawford of Carter, MT that he considered a second family.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents Victor and Kathy (Hinkle) Fatz; brothers Paul and Mark Fatz; nephew Justin Fatz; lifelong friend Wayne Crawford; and his loyal cat, Kitty.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held in Fort Benton, MT in the summer of 2021, date to TBD. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made for the celebration of life and can be made online using the following link…
