Grumpy, what a perfect nickname. We met helping a mutual friend, Lady Mike and immediately bonded. You became a part of my family. Your sense of humor, frankness, hard exterior and inappropriateness sometimes left me shaking my head. Although a biker and clamper, you were a genuine good friend. Over a period of years you became someone we expected to be with us. Daily phone calls with the time of the next meal, you were there. Hell, I trusted you and Pegleg enough to watch my children while I went on a honeymoon. Yes family you were until my marriage ended. I am so grateful to have reconnected the last couple of years. You are irreplaceable, such an important person to me. I enjoyed our video chats and so wanted to make a trip to Montana to see you again. Grump, I love you and will never forget you. I know you are at peace now, you suffered so. Until I see you on the other side….hugs

Gerry it was really great to reconnect after 45 years went by. You were a good boss at Leo’s Union 76 on Main st in Walnut Creek. It was a good time and I learned from you. I remember when you rebuilt the tranny in my Knucklehead in your garage surrounded by aquariums filled with snakes and other creepy stuff. You thought it was funny when a Diamond Back hit the glass and cracked it. I hate snakes. The tranny is still working. One time I was in the office reading the paper and you came in and lit the bottom on fire. Didn’t notice for a minute. Really funny at a gas station. I like your stories and meeting some of you Bros like Preacher. It was where I met my first wife too. I am glad we got to reminisce before you parted. I will always remember you and smile. Hope to see you again someday Your friend Charlie.

The times we shared has added so much to my life Grump and as crazy as some of those times were, they will always be cherished. From the days riding together to celebrating the 4th of July in an explosive manner, you will always be a part of me and loved dearly. Bon Voyage my brother.

It doesn’t seem it’s been 3 years Grump as you’re in my thoughts daily. So many little things remind me of our friendship and all the crazy times shared. I will always love you my friend and the memories will always keep you alive in my heart. Rest easy brother.
