In Memory Of

Dan Fouts, age 63, of Butte

December 24, 1957 – May 6, 2021

In the early morning hours of May 6, 2021, Daniel “Dan” Francis Fouts Jr ascended to heaven after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dan was 63 years old.

Dan is survived by his wife and love of his life, Deborah, his children Christopher, Daniel, Jamie, and Kasey (Tommy), his grandchildren Kayden, Kieran, Liam, Ryker, and Vera, his brother Martin, and his sister Roberta.

Dan was born and raised in Butte, America. He was quick of wit and always had a “dad joke” ready to go. He spent most of his life in sales, selling everything from frozen fish to vacuums before becoming a realtor helping people in Butte buy and sell homes until just before his passing. But Dan’s true calling was being a loving and devoted husband, father, and papa. His love for his family knew no bounds and he was always there with a helping hand, a warm embrace, or to give the perfect advice.

Services will be held at the Copper Bowl Ballroom in the Finlen Hotel in uptown Butte on Saturday, May 15th at 2 o’clock p.m. with reception to follow in the same venue. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dan’s name to the American Cancer Society.

Tap ‘er light, Dan.

Dan was not only my first cousin, he was my best friend. We got thrown in jail together when I was four and he was five and put in solitary confinement for running away. We had many adventures , from camping out to keg party’s, cruising the drag, to watching Monty Python at his house weekly. He tried his hand in almost every trade I can think off. Growing up I was by his side almost every day. He is survived by his sister Roberta, who I also was at her side in my younger years. Her and I used to ride our trikes down MRS. Skellys driveway, then I would push her and my trike back up to the top and we would do it again. Roberta and her friends, Dan and I were constantly together in our teenage years. Somehow fate brought Dan and I back together in the end and I was able to talk to him for hours at first, then just brief conversations, but I was able to tell him I loved him in the end and he was able to say the same. I have tears of love for my friend running down my face right now. He will always be my best friend and I will hold him in my heart forever. I am proud to have been his cousin, and just as proud to have been his friend. I will always remember, and keep him close to my heart. Being immortal is having your name remembered.

My memories are mostly private. But Dan and Roberta are my two best friends in the world. I am going to miss my friend greatly. I think destiny brought us back together in the end, and we were able to say how much we loved each other. I am enternally grateful for this. I will always remember my friend Daniel.
