On May 14, 2021 our precious mom passed away peacefully with her loving lord’s arms wrapped around her; surrounded by her family after complications from her cancer surgery.
Clara was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland at St. Claire’s Hospital on May 7, 1943 to Everall and Violet Miller (Grouchy), Clara was 78 years old.
She arrived in America on a ship with her mother, her father was a serviceman. They lived in several states and then made their home in Anaconda, MT.
Clara married Norris Anderson in 1961 and gave birth to two beautiful daughters, Debra Ann and Leah Marie. They later divorced in 1968 and remained friends.
She married Jim Pearson in 1971 in Reno, NV and together they owned/managed Jim & Clara’s Dining and Lounge from 1971 to 1992, they later divorced in 1993 and remained friends.
In 1998 Clara started a relationship/companionship with Charles “Charlie” Dowd and continued until her passing.
Clara has left behind such a legacy with her family, friends, and acquaintances. She loved her family so much and did not want to miss anything. She was so giving and caring, she would help anyone, no matter what she was going through. She was always someone to call for support and to confide in without judgement.
Clara had strong love and faith for her family and church. She truly enjoyed spending quality time outdoors and traveling with her companion Charlie.
Clara enjoyed dancing, baking, shuffleboard, billiards, fishing.
Most of all, she loved gathering with her family and socializing with her friends and her Red Hat ladies and Breakfast Club. Her favorite time of year besides Christmas was Halloween. She loved dressing up for the contests at the Metcalf Center and was proud to say that she won 5 years in a row. She especially loved showering her family and friends in town with her delicious baked cookies and fudge.
Clara is survived by her companion of 24 years Charles Dowd, daughers Debbie (Dan) Wyant and Leah (Bill) Larsen, her sister June Lague, and brothers Erman (Jean) Miller, Tim (Van) Miller and numerous nieces and nephews, and sons-in-law Chuck (Susan) Dowd Jr. and Justin (Becki) Dowd.
Grandchildren; Chad (Kara) Wyant, Amanda Wyant, Danny Wyant, Tiffany (Lance) Henderson, Ryan (Kayla) Wyant-Newman, Chance Standish, Chelsey (Riley) Wyant-Outland and Harlea Standish.
Great grandchildren; Aiyanna and Aiysha Wyant, Saleena, Keira, Zachary and Glenn Henderson, Klayden, Caylee and Klyde Wyant, Lucia Wyant and Jacob Outland.
She is preceded in death by her parents Everall and Violet Miller, twin sister Mary Elizabeth Miller, Lovina Anderson, Norris Anderson, Fred Lague, and her beloved Pomeranian Elvis.
Clara has left behind her best friend Dee Cron and many more friends, too many to mention. She will be greatly missed by everyone. She has touched many lives.

Always a smile and always a kind word. Miss Clara could make you smile with just her presence. Although I never had the opportunity to give her a hug in person, her understanding and kind words were like a warm hug on a cold day. I will miss seeing her beautiful smile but I am grateful that she is with her Father in Heaven and has no more pain. May you all take comfort knowing you are a part of her legacy and she lives through you. Love to you all. ❤️
Chuck Dowd Jr. says
Clara was one in a million. A gracious lady full of love and spunk and my Dad’s “satin doll”. She was much loved and admired by all who knew her and certainly by our family. She was a loving partner to Charlie, her “Little Man” for 24 years and she has our eternal gratitude for that. Equally, we are so grateful to the lovely Wyant family for their loving kindness.
She loved Jesus and lived according to his ways. She is surely with Him now. Chuck DowdJr.

So sorry for your loss and our prayers are with the family. We will miss her smile and laughter at our Saturday morning breakfast club with Charlie leading our prayer and with both Clara and Charlie at lunches with our Metcalf Senior Center family. Halloween won’t be the same when we would wait to see what she did this year for her costume!! We will have our memories of this fabulous couple in our hearts and they are missed.
