William LaHood, 80, of Denver, Colorado passed away in his sleep on July 2, 2024, while visiting his favorite place in the world: Butte, Montana. Born in Butte on May 4, 1944, to Stephen and Montana LaHood, Billy was raised on the East Side attending Sacred Heart Grade School and Boys Central High School before graduating with a degree in Graphic Design from Montana State.
He is survived by his loving partner of more than 35 years, Marilyn Sexton, sister Marilyn (LaHood) Konicki, sister-in-law Angie LaHood, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Montana LaHood, and brother Stephen.
Billy was an extremely talented artist, working as a Graphic Designer and owning his own business (LaHood Graphics) in Denver. He never met a stranger and loved traveling all over the world with Marilyn. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan, devoted captain of his perpetually needy RV, and a resourceful “Mr. Fix It.”
His other love in life was his participation in the Colorado Parrot Head Club. He and Marilyn rarely missed monthly “meetings” and travelled across the country to attend “bigger meetings.” He volunteered his time (and his front yard) to build the annual parade float. According to the club, Billy was among “…our longest tenured and most-cherished members.”
We invite friends to join us while Father Steve Judd, a Butte native, officiates a dual Memorial Service for both LaHood brothers (Billy and Steve) at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11am, Friday, July 12. A Celebration of Lives will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall (224 W. Park Street) beginning at 1pm.
Billy will be remembered for his kind, gentle nature and his fun loving and laid-back personality. We pray he enjoys a never-ending summer of Parrot Head festivities.
