Wayne E. Gibson
03.01.38 -01.04.20
Heaven received a new angel to watch over us on January 4, 2020. Wayne went peacefully with his love Melanie O’Reilly by his side.
Wayne was a master carpenter in his own right and never stopped using his skills to make beautiful things for the people he cared about. Wayne was an avid explorer and could often be found travelling and exploring the road less traveled to find new and interesting places. Camping, fishing and digging for rocks were also a part of his passion and this passion was inherited by most if not all of his children and grandchildren. Many wonderful memories were made growing up and visiting in all the places he lived. He had a generous heart that he and Melanie showed the town of Anaconda by building doll houses for charity raffles and for his family that will be pasted on for many generations.
Wayne had many lives and loves in his life and an enormous circle of friends that were made in the surrounding states that were touched by his friendship and skills. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Wayne spent the later years of his life in Anaconda with his wonderful life partner Melanie. She was an instrumental part in his life and loved him for the wonderful person he was. In the end she was there, and our family is eternally grateful for everything she did and for being a part of our family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Lillian and Wayne Gibson of Shelby, Montana and his son Shannon Gibson. He is survived by his 3 sisters Carol (Jim) Mosley, Shirley Threatt, and Jackie (Al) Dunhame. He is also survived by children Sheri Gibson, Robert Gibson and Nancy (Orin) Gates and their mother and ex-spouse of 30+ years Delores Gibson (Dunton) He is also survived by his 3 granddaughters Ashley and Morgan Gates and Katie Marie Gibson.
Services for Wayne will be held at a later date at Fort Harrison in Helena. In place of flowers please donate to Alzheimer’s research. In addition, I and the rest of the family would like to thank the Anaconda nursing home for taking such good care of “Wayne “O”. The love and compassion you bestowed on him was so heartfelt and we are thankful for you. Thank you again from all the family.
