In Memory Of

Virginia Carleno Bumbar, Age 98, of Butte

December 1, 1923 – August 3, 2022

Virginia Carleno Bumbar, age (98), passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022 in Butte, Montana. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 1, 1923. Jinny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She died knowing she was deeply loved by her family and by the countless friends she made over the years. She served honorably in the Army Air Force during WW II. During her working career, she was an executive medical secretary beginning her career with United Airlines in Chicago working for the Medical Director. She was a gracious hostess who always enjoyed entertaining and was a gourmet cook. She had an adventuresome spirit and had traveled all over the world, especially in her later years with her good friend Luke. Jinny was a stickler for grammar and punctuation, did her crossword puzzles in ink, and never met a piece of chocolate she didn’t like.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Daley, a brother, John Daley, sisters Katherine Manthei and Mary Daley, and husbands Vaughan Carleno and Steven Bumbar. She is survived by her three children, Michael Carleno of Albuquerque, NM, Barbara McBee (Norm) of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Susan Carleno of Anaconda, Montana; her grandchildren Chad Zens of Salmon, Idaho and Amy Zens of Missoula,Montana, and her great-grandchildren Haley and Jarrett. She is also survived by one step-son, Dr. Paul Bumbar and wife Dr. Gloria Durka of Williamsville, New York.

Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at the National Veterans’ Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, please remember Jinny with a donation to your favorite charity.

Although she is gone, her memory and constant love will guide us forever.
