Vernon (Dutch) Russell passed away July 12, 2024, at the Southwest Montana Veteran’s Home in Butte, MT. Vernon was born April 23, 1929, to Honorable and Tillie Russell in Leeds, ND. He left home at an early age traveling the country by “freight hopping”, and then he served in the army for some time. After the army, he met and married Annabelle and together they worked on their farm. After his wife’s’ passing, he made his way to Anaconda, MT, where he lived for 30 plus years. He very much enjoyed playing cribbage, gambling, making wishing wells and traveling. When you asked where he was going, he would always tell you, “I’m going to Cucamonga, do you want to go?”
He is preceded in death by his late wife, his twin sister, 2 brothers, 6 other sister and his parents.
