Sophronia Della (Kipe) Walker, age 82, of Butte, Montana, passed away on August 28, 2022, surrounded by her family. Sophronia “Frona” was born on February 11, 1940, to Herman and Della Kipe in Butte, Montana. She graduated from Butte High School in 1958. Soon after graduation, Sophronia married Frank Walker in August, being gifted with her three amazing children, Wendell, Joyceann, and Mark. He passed away in 1962, leaving her with the role of mother and father. She went on to college and graduated with a Business Degree, earning herself awards for her shorthand in typing.
Sophronia worked hard. She began her journey working as an auditor for an Insurance Company. Following that, she started her career at the Department of Public Health and Human Services, earning numerous awards for her achievements, up until she retired in November 2019 at the age of 79. Sophronia was very active in the Presbyterian Church. She was the director of the Sunday Church School Department and an Elder of the Church. She moved on from this chapter of her life in 1987. During the interim, she found the time to be what we call today “an AMAZING landlord.”
Sophronia had many interests and hobbies. You wouldn’t be shocked if you found her reading a harlequin romance novel, doing some crafting, embroidery, beading, canning fruits/vegetables, or even making someone something fancy to wear to their first special occasion. She was quite the cook and baker, something she passed on to a select few of her children and grandchildren.
Sophronia loved doing adventures with her sister Diana. They took numerous trips and celebrated many holidays together. One of their favorite holidays was the 4th of July. They would start their day watching the parade and end it by watching the firework show from the Big M and lighting their own off, showing their childlike sides.
Sophronia is survived by her children: Wendell (Susan) Walker, Joyceann Walker, Mark Walker (Christina Casablanca); Grandchildren: Nichole White-Nelsen (Brad) Nelsen, Conan, Luc, Duncan, Key, and Laz Walker; Great-Granddaughter: Ryley Nelsen; Other Survivors include numerous nieces/nephews; great nieces/nephews and her late husband’s extended family.
Sophronia was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Bert Doris; sister and brother-in-law Adeline (Ray) Clark; and her sister, who gained her wings soon after Diana (Clyde) Finch.
You will forever be missed and never forgotten! Love you for a lifetime!

So sorry to hear about Sophronia. She was awesome to work with and she always brought Shepherds candy to the office. She asked to get together for lunch and we never made it. Will always have great memories of her.
