Sidney “Sid” Lysle Billington, age 66, of Butte, Montana, passed away on November 2, 2024. Sid was born on November 21, 1957, to Wilbur Ray and Wilma Lucille (Matson) Billington Sr. Sid was raised in Butte and graduated from Butte High School in 1976.
Sid worked as a parts man his entire career. He started with Champion Auto in the 1970’s and retired from Car Quest in 2020. Sid even dabbled in operating a garage, “Pit Stop Auto” with a friend for a few years.
Sid married Tammi Breeden on October 25, 1980. They had three children, April, Brad, and Chase. Sid and Tammi divorced but remained friends over the years. Later in life, Sid gained a bonus daughter, Chessie, whom he remained close to and was a father figure to. Among his children, Sid had his favorite pets, Oreo, Sabby, and Guido. (Oreo may have been the favorite child at the end).
Growing up, Sid loved Hot Rods and engine work. Sid could buy a new car but still had to bring it in the garage and either learn more about or “make it better.” Throughout his life, Sid also enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling, garage time, and a good beer, especially a Rainier or Miller Lite. West Yellowstone and Wise River were some of his favorite places.
He was easy-going and indecisive. Anyone that knew Sid, knew that he was never in a hurry.
Sid was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Wilma; brothers, Jerry Billington, and Rodney Billington; mother-in-law, Cloella Breeden; and fur-baby, Guido.
He is survived by his children, April (Todd) Edelen, Brad (Kris) Billington, and Chase Billington; grandchildren, Wyatt, Kymber, Abbey, and Henry; brother, Billy (Sandy) Billington; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends; and his fur-baby, Oreo, and cat, Sabby.
Sid loved his family. In his words, he “lived a good, full life.”
One of the good ones gone to soon.
