Ronald Lee Aschenbrenner died after a short illness on April 19, 2022, at St. James Hospital in Butte. He was born July 31, 1942, at the same hospital to parents, Bud and Lillian Aschenbrenner.
In Ron’s early years, he enjoyed riding on his motorcycle, running in stock car races, and being a rebel. He loved fishing and hunting especially with his son Dustin and wife Marlene. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Later in life he would often talk about his fishing trips with his father and brother-in-law, Frank Gray, at Canyon Ferry; his favorite spot. He loved his riding lawnmower and helping his wife with gardening and yard work. He enjoyed gatherings of any kind and loved to play his 8 tracks, loudly. He was always on the go and some often thought he had 9 lives due to the many times he faced death and survived.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother; his son, Jason Aschenbrenner and grandson, Brodie Aschenbrenner.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Marlene (Lehto) Aschenbrenner; are his sons: Ronnie Aschenbrenner (Christina) of Mountain Home, Idaho, Dustin Aschenbrenner of Butte, Montana, and Stanley (Amy) Lawrence of McCall, Idaho; daughters: Terri (Rick) Clements of Boise, Idaho and Lu Ringle Haney of Holman, Wisconsin; his sister, Joanne (Frank) Gray; his nephews: Shawn and Shane Gray of Butte; step-children: Tina (Mark) Bihr of Casper, Wyoming, Sherry (Morgan) Williamson of Anaconda, Montana and Randy Taylor of Butte, Montana; as well as many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a small memorial service, privately organized by the family, at Mount Mariah Cemetery in Butte on July 31, 2022 at 2: 00 p.m. in Butte, MT. Reception to follow at Stodden Park.
