Ronald Henry Kuecks passed away peacefully at his home on April 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on November 1, 1941, to Emma and Henry Kuecks in Butte, Montana.
He graduated from Butte High School in 1959 and was a member of the Butte High Silver Bee’s. He went on to acquire his teaching degree from Western Montana College in 1965. Ron married his best friend and loving wife, Joyce Johnson on June 12, 1965. He became a dad when his son Nathan was born on July 13, 1969, and then again when his daughter Lara was born on April 2, 1971.
Ron was born to teach and mentor. His first position in education started at Ramsay School where he taught for 5 years. He thoroughly loved working with children and on several occasions, Joyce would have to call the Ramsay School to tell him to come home.
During his time at Ramsay, he acquired his masters in secondary education and a minor in counseling. Throughout his career, Ron taught, counseled, and coached at West and East Junior High schools. He retired from his 36-year education career while he was working as a counselor for Butte High School.
Ron touched many lives young and old. His quirky, lighthearted attitude was one of his best qualities. Ron loved entertaining and he never shied away from any performances whether it be for schools, churches, or nursing homes.
Our husband, Dad, Poppa, and Poppy lived his life loving and supporting his family and the community. His presence will be greatly missed; however, his teachings and instruction will guide us forever through our journey of life.
Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years Joyce Kuecks; his son, Nathan Kuecks (Danette Kuecks); daughter, Lara Murphy; grandchildren, Lexi Hollow (Colin Hollow), Makenna Kuecks, Danika Murphy, Kade Kuecks; and great grandchild Reid Hollow. Also surviving, his sister, Beverly Monroe; brother, Paul Kuecks; sister in laws, Melody Kuecks and Terri Johnson; nieces, Deann Johnson, Christen Gilman; nephew, Jeremy Kuecks (Amy Kuecks); and great nephew, Tyler Jozovich.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the Alder’s Gate Methodist church in Ron’s name.
We would like to thank Senior Solutions for all their support and care during Ron’s battle with Alzheimer’s.

I have lots of memories of Ron growing up and hunting with Ron and Nathan along with my dad up in the Wise River country. My condolences to Joyce and Family for the passing of Ron Kuecks. I remember visiting my grandparents for the Summer. Uncle Henry taught me to fish and Ron was always trying to scare me with the rattle of a snake by the river. You will be missed my friend and my cousin. My brother is waiting for you.
