On the morning of July 5, 2021, Robert “Bob” Naugle passed away at home in Butte, Montana at the age of 70. He was born on November 19, 1950 in San Francisco, California to Gene and Pat Naugle. Bob made his way to the place he called home, Butte, Montana, where he met his wife of 40 years, Chris Bolton Naugle. They raised three children together, Rob, Kevin and Sara. Bob retired injury-free as a lineman of 50 years from Northwestern Energy. Of course he saved all his injuries for his hobbies at home. He loved all rusty old country stuff, animals, fishing, hunting and frog catching with his grandkids. You could always find him outdoors wearing his long johns and denim blue snap shirts with a Rainier in one hand and a Marlboro in the other. He was known for his odd and sometimes inappropriate sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to offer his opinion. Although he was stubborn, ornery and liked to yell at us, we loved him for his big, sensitive heart he tried so hard to hide.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Bolton Naugle; children, Rob (Heidi) Naugle, Kevin (Karen) Naugle, and Sara (Alan) D’Lima; brother, Jim (Terri) Naugle and family; grandchildren, Tanner, Curtis, Trenton, Deearea, Kara and Courtney Naugle and Noah, Dylan, Isaac and Gabby D’Lima and sister- and brother-in-laws, Sis and John Coates, Linda and Ron DeWitt, JP and Cheryl Bolton and families. He is preceded in death by parents Gene and Pat Naugle and in-laws, Jack and Dorrie Bolton.
Join us in celebrating Bob’s life this Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11 am at St. Ann’s Church with a reception to follow at the McQueen Club from 12:30-2:30 pm. Donations can be made to the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
Now, in Bob’s words, get the “F” out and leave me alone.

Chris, I’m so sorry for your loss. I have so many great memories of when I first started at the power company working for Bob. He was a outstanding lineman, teacher and someone I could call a friend. Was always the most courteous of guys, since he would never smoke in my car, but he’d always have a cold one. I hope you can find peace and remember all the good times that you two had together. Let me know if you need anything. God bless!

I am so sorry for your loss. I can still remember as a kid the one time we were at the Dewitt’s for a BBQ. It was Bob, Johnny Pat, Ron and probably others that I have failed to mention who let us kids jump off the roof into a big huge blanket they were all holding. These are the times that come to mind often. Bob will be missed by so many. Sincerely
Misty Piercy

One of my favorite people for sure. Even when I received the infamous dousing from the sprayer he hooked up to the front of his truck and asked me (and a LOT of others) to “look under the hood for me will ya’ while I crank this over”? Loved that man. So sorry Chris.
