Randy Paul Robbins, 58, of Lakeside Montana, passed away in Kalispell Montana on November 12th, 2021. He was surrounded by his family and fought hard and stubbornly for those he loved until the very end.
Randy was born on July 11th, 1963 in Butte, Montana to John “Jack” and Ellen Robbins. He was the youngest of his four siblings, and was very lovingly referred to as the “baby brother.” He deeply adored his mother, Ellen, and greatly admired his father, Jack.
He attended Emerson Elementary School, East Junior High, and graduated from Butte High School in 1981. Randy had so many close lifelong friends from childhood, that it wouldn’t be possible to list them all.
Randy gained a deep affinity for cars from his father, Jack. He had fond memories of the things he learned from his father in the automotive field, and his fondness turned to not only a lifelong passion but also a lifelong career. Randy was the one everyone called on for advice when it came to their car troubles. He always gave the most humble answers and was almost always right in diagnosing the problem, even if he couldn’t see it in person. In 1980, he purchased a 1969 Chevrolet Impala that he drove up the hill to Butte High School every day of his senior year, rain, shine, or snow. He restored the car himself, alongside help from his friends, and kept it until shortly before he passed.
Randy also loved sports. As a child, Randy chose the Green Bay Packers as his favorite football team, to rival his older brother, Gary, a dedicated Chicago Bears fan. Randy wore a Green Bay Packers sock cap to bed every night to flatten his thick, curly hair.
Randy had two children; his son, John, and daughter, Jami. John attained his father’s love for sports; they had seen a Green Bay Packers Game in Denver, Colorado, and always aspired to see a live game at Lambeau Field. Meanwhile, Jami absorbed every bit of knowledge she could about cars from Randy, and now works in the industry. His children meant more to him than anything, and he ensured that their lives were full of love and fun memories.
He met the love of his life, Shayla, at an auto parts store that he managed in Butte. Shayla knew that she loved Randy from the moment they met. The two spent thirteen years sharing adventures together. Randy and Shayla were known for their hilarious, contest-winning Halloween costumes. Halloween was not only both of their favorite holidays but also their anniversary. They guided each other through trials and tribulations and loved each other endlessly. They moved to Lakeside, Montana, in 2019, for the scenery and lower elevation to aid in Randy’s health.
Randy was known for being quite stubborn. He was determined to lose weight and get healthy. He faced some of the biggest challenges on his journey and shed over 200 pounds. He felt immensely proud of himself for all of the hard work he had done, but always remained humble; one of his most predominant traits.
Randy was tall and brawny in stature. He had a very rugged, masculine appearance that melted away when it came to his grandchildren. He loved to take them for rides in his boat or his Corvette, and when he was far away, loved to “do the silly face” in video chats with them. His grandchildren all adored Papa Randy, and he will be greatly missed.
Spending time with family and friends, listening to music, seeing concerts, shooting guns, exploring new places around Flathead Lake, driving his Corvette, dumping his kids off of the inner tube and into the lake from his boat, playing goofy pranks on people, watching his favorite sports teams, playing with his “gadgets” and traveling were some of the things that Randy enjoyed most. He was quick-witted and sarcastic, and you could always expect a wise-crack from him.
He always had the wisest advice, and had a humble way of putting all of our problems into perspective, no matter how big or small. His wisdom and advice will be sorely missed, and forever cherished.
Randy is survived by his love, Shayla, his son, John (Kaleigh), daughter, Jami -Lee (Josh), his bonus kids, Madison, Makyla, Hailee, and Blake, grandchildren Brysen, Bentley, Jameson, Kaden, Bryant, Kymberlynn, Emersyn, and Stenson, his siblings Lynnette (Mark) Petritz, Gary (Kim) Robbins, and Teri-Jo (Nate) Wald, numerous nieces and nephews, and too many more friends and family to name. He is preceded in death by his parents, John “Jack” Edwin & Ellen Lucy Robbins.

Randy Paul Robbins, 58, passed away in Flathead County on November 12th, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Randy was born on July 11th, 1963 in Butte, Montana to John “Jack” and Ellen Robbins. He was the youngest of four siblings and was very lovingly referred to as “baby brother”.
He attended Emerson Elementary, East Junior High, and graduated from Butte High School in 1981.
Randy thoroughly devoted his life to his love of cars, even taking a career in the auto parts industry. Randy had many cars throughout the years, but the 69 Chevy impala was something him and his daughter Jami bonded over. He was the guy we would call when problems with our cars arose. He gave the most humble answer that always seemed right and had the best way of making everyone’s problems not seem so big while putting it into perspective.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Shayla. His greatest blessing John(Kaleigh). The apple of his eye Jamilee(Josh), and his bonus kids Madison, Makyla, Hailee, Blake. He had a soft spot for grandkids Brysen, Bentley, Jameson, Kaden, Bryant, Kymberlynn, Emersyn, and Stenson. Siblings Lynnette(Mark) Petritz, Gary(Kim) Robbins, TJ(Nate) Wald. Numerous nieces and nephews, along with too many family and friends to mention.
He also loved sports, as a child Randy chose the Green Packers to be his team to rival his older brother Gary. Randy passed his love of this team onto his son John, who they shared many fond memories over.
Randy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially getting a rise out of them through his quick-witted sense of humor. If you knew Randy you knew his love for GM cars, Harley Davidson’s, well lets be honest anything that went fast. Randy enjoyed passing his sports knowledge to his kids and grandkids. Another love of Randy’s was Halloween. Shayla and him always had the best costumes planning them years in advance.
In the recent years, Randy moved to Lakeside where him and Shayla found their dream home. They moved to Lakeside for the scenery and lower elevation to aid in Randy’s health.
He is proceeded in death by his parent John and Ellen Robbins and other deeply loved family members.

To the entire family of Randy’s
I am so sorry for your loss! I got to meet Randy when he was first married to Lisa, he kinda scared me… 😂. But then when I realized he was a big teddy bear that loved to have fun! Danielle and I have been friends since the 3rd grade so he was Uncle Randy, later I got the chance to work for O’Reilly’s auto parts ( boy did he have patience). Even I knew some questions I asked about parts should have been blonde jokes! His smile was infectious, so when he Shayla got together his eyes showed how happy he was!
Please remember the great times! RIP Randy!!

My heart goes out to you. Remembering some those great times with the Robbins and Tierney families at Salmon Lake. Randy was a great friend, worked together for a short time. He had a infectious smile and happy attitude that gave me a smile and made me happy too. Darn, wish hadn’t moved on so early. Gonna miss Randy. One of the truly good ones. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

I would like to extend my condolences to Lynn, TeriJo, Gary, and all of Randy’s family. I lost touch with Randy after high school, but we reconnected the last ten years or so when we were both associated with NAPA and the auto parts business. He was a darn good parts man, and was always ready to help in any way. Peace to you all.
