Nick: I am so very sorry for the passing of your son! We never know what life will give us, but the Lord us in charge. I visualize Patrick in the arms of the Savior welcoming him home.

I am so sad to learn the news of Patrick’s recent passing. We knew each other while living in Mountain View, California when he rented a room in my home for approx. 6 months back in 2004 or 2005. We then dated the following year for a short period (probably around the time the “memorial” photo of him was taken). He introduced me to golf via a few “crash courses” and luckily for me, was very patient. 🙂 I’ll always fondly remember his goofy sense of humour and (rather odd) love of soap operas. 🙂 Rest in Peace, sweet Patrick.

Patrick and I worked together at Magellan Network Systems in Sunnyvale CA. Patrick came aboard as a support engineer supporting PrePaid Calling Card platform. I viewed Patrick personality as very energetic, outgoing, humorous, responsible and eager to learn . He always took pride in his professional career in that he wanted to learn as much as he can regardless of the technology. Over the last 20 – 30 years we always stayed in contact following each ones career path. Patrick ended working for Onvoy/Inteliquent/Sinch of which is a vendor of mine and we had pleasant conversations time to time. I have always enjoyed our conversation as he has a great sense of humor; but more importantly I always respected his technical analysis and knowledge.
A funny story …While we both worked together at Magellan Network Systems, we agreed that Patrick would go to Japan to assists with our clients implementation/turn up. The client was anxious for our Support Engr to arrive to address any/all issues. The was Patrick’s first visit to this vendor. Patrick arrives at the hotel and starts to unpack. Immediately there is a knock at the door and it was the Dir of Operations. Patrick opens the door in his boxer shorts revealing his tooth pick legs and smoking a cigarette. What a image!! I would not have expected anything different from Patrick.
Because of his personality I will say he was one of my favorite, respected friends. Will miss you Patrick!!!
