With the “Grace” of our Lord and his guiding angels, Naoma Rose “Roni” DeLong passed away on October 13, 2020.
Naoma was born on October 21, 1932 to Clifton Monroe and Lora Westerdale as their first child. Naoma was followed by three sisters, Iris, Clara and Billie Jo. At a young age Naoma lost her father and later her mother. Naoma was then raised by her Grandmother and Grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Westerdale of Bozeman, Montana. She lived there until she met the love of her life, Darcy Gahlen DeLong. They were married on July 27, 1951. The newlywed couple moved to Butte, Montana for a brief time until they purchased their home in Opportunity, Montana to continue and grow their family together. Naomi lived there until Darcy’s passing in 2017 at which time she began her adventures with new found friends at New Horizon.
Naoma, but always Roni as most of us called her, loved her children and grandchildren. She was always extremely happy when one of us would stop by just to visit. She loved to read and loved the simple things in life she treasured with her heartfelt moments. She will be remembered by the sly wink she would give you, the absolute commitment to her family and the grace she always presented.
She has left behind her children, Darcel (Clayton) Evans, Gordon (Debbie) Delong, Denyse Anderson and Janell (Sal) Principe as well as her grandchildren, Jeremiah Walker, Jessica VanAlstyne, Annie DeLong, Copper Ryan, Heather Christian, Tyrel DeLong, Jesse DeLong, Jared Delong, Shannon Carlson, Sal Principe, and Kaila Tamcke as well as several great-grandchildren. She has also left behind her sister, Billie Jo and all her friends and companions at New Horizon.
Naoma was preceded in death by her husband Darcy, son Rodney, her sisters Iris and Clara, her parents Clifford and Lora Monroe, her grandparents the Westerdale and numerous brother-in laws and sister-in laws.
We all love and miss you. Roni, please keep the Pearly Gates open for all of us when our own times have been chosen.

Roni and Darcy were kind neighbors to us when we moved to Opportunity in 2006. They welcomed us to the neighborhood and we learned much history from Darcy.
