Myrna “Joyce” Hendrickson, Age 82, of Butte

Myrna “Joyce” Hendrickson age 82 of Butte Montana, passed away peacefully in the arms of her son Brian and husband Walter at home on November 28^th, 2025, due to long battle with health issues.

Joyce was born on Tuesday September 21^st, 1943, to Edna and Travis Evetts, in Waco TX. She went on to live in Temple TX, where she met the love of her life Walter Hendrickson, while working as a drug store soda jerk. They married on December 29^th, 1962, at the Heights Baptist church. Joyce was a confirmed Southern Baptist but converted to the Lutheran church. Joyce went to school to become a beautician before they moved to Butte Montana where they started their life together. She and Walter were blessed with three children Travis, Sheila, and Brian. Joyce had many jobs in her lifetime including being a ward secretary at St. James hospital, where she met many lifelong friends and touched the lives of many coming through the doors. She was member of the Teamsters union, as well as H.E.R E. union. She also took on Sewing and clothing alteration projects on the side to earn “egg money”. Joyce enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting and collecting. She shared her love of sewing and crafting with granddaughters Britney and Meaghanne, there were many sleepovers and afternoons spent upstairs in the sewing and craft rooms with hours of laughter and conversation and time well spent, whether a project got done or not. Joyce loved spending time with family, grandchildren and great grandchildren especially a simple family get-together would be the highlight of day.

Joyce was welcomed in heaven by her mother Ednah, her father Travis, her brother David, and daughter Sheila.

Joyce is survived by her loving and devoted husband Walter Hendrickson, Sons Brian (Daphne), and Travis (Reni), Son in law Bob Burgess (Sheila), Sister Doris (David), grandchildren Zachary, Miranda (Lucas), Evan, Lelania, Britney, Meaghanne (Ben), and Brad, great grandchildren Zachary Jr, Zoey, Fletcher, and Marlene.

All are welcome to join friends and family to a Celebration of life that will be held on Monday December 29^th, 2025, at 10 am at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 223 S Montana St, Butte MT 59701.
