Mike’s Lord & Savior welcomed him into his loving arms on Friday July 26th. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. Mike was born September 18th, 1952, in Anaconda, MT to Thelma Curran. He grew up in Anaconda and raised his family in Butte, MT.
He married the love of his life, Nancy, on August 31st, 1973. Last August they celebrated a loving marriage of 50 years. He was a dedicated father, devoted grandfather and cherished great grandfather.
Mike earned an associate degree from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. He started his working career with the Anaconda Company. This led him into a career as a proud union (local 41) pipefitter, which he passed onto his daughter. He spent his final working years traveling the country working on nuclear power houses, with Nancy constantly at his side.
His faith & family were important to him but so were the outdoors and sports. He was an avid outdoorsman who passed his love and knowledge of hunting onto his children, grandchildren and friends. These memories will be cherished for a lifetime. His greatest hunting accomplishments were his two trophy bighorn sheep, supporting his wife, Nancy, in getting her trophy elk and his son, Michael, in getting his trophy bighorn sheep.
He loved his entire family more than anything and treasured attending his grandchildren’s sporting events along with all family functions. His passion for sports was evident in his trips with his daughter and his Saturdays spent at Grizz games with his family.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Curran; three daughters, Anna (Fred) Wendt, Michelle (Jonathan Price) Curran, Cynthia (Frank) Curran-Takeshorse; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Melanie) Wendt, McKenna (Allen Rogers) Wendt, Mike Touhey, Donovan Descharme-Curran, Samuel Descharme-Curran, Elizabeth Descharme-Curran, Larry Debus; seven great grandchildren, Dean Wendt, Castti Wendt, Bridgett Touhey, Maycie Descharme-Curran, Hadley Ellington, Arayia Ellington, Iris Lansing; siblings, brother Sean (Birdie) Curran and sister Colleen (Paul) Boucher; and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was predeceased by his son, Michael Curran Jr.; mother, Thelma Curran; and brother, Pat Curran.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 pm on August 1, 2024, at Heritage Bible Church, 3215 Hannibal St., Butte, Montana, with a reception immediately following at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Bible Church or Old Fashioned Baptist Church.

Mike was a great man. He called me often to talk about hunting and to see if we drew any special tags. He always wanted to know if we killed anything. He would always stop by our hunting camp when he was in the area. There wasn’t anywhere he wouldn’t take his pickup. Chains on all four wheels. I’ll miss his phone calls.
My thoughts are with you Nancy. You were the best life partner Mike could ever ask for. He was very blessed to have you.

Mike was a Gentleman. He had a quick sense of humor with an effortless delivery. Paul and I were delighted by our conversations with Mike as they invariably resulted in laughter and great warmth.
Mike will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the laughter he shared will remain in our hearts forever.
With Love,
Nina and Paul Lifschultz

Paul and I worked with Mike on jobs all across the United States. We not only worked together we fished together. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. We stayed in contact by phone after we all retired, always discussing the weather. Hot in Mobile, Alabama and
Cold in Butte, Montana. He will be missed.
