In Memory Of

Melba Renee Westmoreland, age 84, of Butte, Montana

September 1, 1935 – March 7, 2020

Melba Renee Westmoreland was surrounded with love and her children on March 7, 2020 when she left to be with her Savior in heaven.

Melba was born September 1, 1935 to Jack and Irene Casey in Blackfoot Idaho. She grew up with her three brothers (William, Raymond and Don) and her two sisters (Shirley and Kathy). She later married her late first husband Mark Corsi and had her first son, Terry Corsi. She later married the love of her life Kenneth Decker together, they had 7 children they raised in Bannock and Butte Montana. Her children Ray Decker, John Decker, Ron (Aleece) Decker, William (Sue) Decker, Michael Decker, Brenda (Kevin) Himmelspach and Susan (David) Pierce were the light of her life.

She was proceeded in death by her parents (Jack and Irene) her siblings (Don and Shirley) her husbands (Mark Corsi and Kenneth Decker) and her children (Terry and Ray).

Melba had many wonderful talents. She was a fantastic homemaker. She loved to dance, bang her tambourine, play the keyboard and sing. She enjoyed getting dressed up for church and being a wonderful Sunday school teacher. She was a foster mother and an Ordained Minister. She could sew anything together and was able to find a treasure at any thrift store she stopped in. She loved getting out and shopping and finding fun things to decorate her home with.

Melba loved all eight of her children, twenty-one grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren so very much. She was loving, kind, compassionate and stubborn! She was a fighter and left this earth when she was ready and with her own terms to be with Jesus.

She was a bright light and brought so much joy to so many. She will be missed greatly. She taught us how to love our families, give lots of hugs and never give up!

Our family would like to extend our appreciation for our brother John Decker. He was able to support our mom several times a week and cared for her immediate needs when she no longer could. We would also like to thank the nursing staff at Butte Care and Rehab for caring for our mom over the last several years.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date so her wishes can be honored with her family.

Please visit below to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Melba. Axelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been privileged to care for Melba and her family.
