Mary Peterson Clark, formerly of Whitefish, passed peacefully at her residence in Butte, MT, in the company of her family, on February 2, 2022. Mary was born on February 16, 1938, in Momence, IL, the daughter of Clyde C. Peterson, and Pearl Deliere Peterson. Mary was the sister of Bill Peterson and Jim Peterson, formerly of Momence. Mary and Donald Clark were married in Momence on May 7, 1961 and were married for 56 years.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Clark Meehan of Collinsville, IL, and her son Christopher Clark and daughter in-law, Ellie Clark, of Seeley Lake, MT. Mary also enjoyed the love of her grandchildren Christopher Clark Jr. of Portland, OR, Addison Clark of Portland OR, Thomas Clark of Columbia Falls, MT, and Adam Meehan, Katie Meehan, and James Meehan of Collinsville, IL.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Clark, and her brothers Bill and Jim Peterson.
In addition to raising her children and being a homemaker, Mary had a variety of work interests including office management, cooking, and retail sales. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at her church and other non-profit organizations. Mary had an outgoing personality and a witty sense of humor. Mary was an excellent cook and loved sharing her culinary creations. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, and cherished the many friendships she made throughout her life. Mary made a lasting positive impact on her friends, family, and her end of life caregivers.

My favorite memory is Mary’s first night with me. When she was going to bed for the night, she asked me to sit and pray with her. That we did. She never failed to make me smile, and she made every day so fun. She will be so missed, and she will always hold a special piece of my heart. ❤️

I will always remember Mary. I took care of her while in different shifts. My favorite was morning, she was so happy to get up and get the day going. She always had a energetic spirit. I was blessed to know her and learn from her. Prayers and love to all who loved her.

My dear sweet Mary she will forever be missed and in my Heart. I loved talking with her everyday she always had a smile and we made eachother laugh . I was her Housekeeper, I will never forget the days she told me that she loved everything i did for her and that i always kept her room so clean and fresh, and she tell me she loved me ,I always told her she looked beautiful she would proceed to tell me no I’m not I gave her lots of hugs when i seen her on the days i worked.
