Marlene Frances (Weber) Miller, age 75, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on February 22, 2023, at St. James Healthcare in Butte, Montana, surrounded by her family. She succumbed to COPD after many years of smoking. Following her diagnosis, she urged others not to smoke or use tobacco products.
Marlene was born in Butte on February 24, 1947, to Frances (Bolla) Weber and Alfred Weber. She was an only child and her parents doted on her.
Marlene was raised in the Catholic Church and attended Butte Central Catholic schools. Marlene had a deep faith in God. St. Frances of Assisi was her favorite saint because he was the patron saint of animals. He loved animals, so much so that he would preach the Word of the Lord to them. He, and she, believed animals were as much God’s creatures as humans and should be cared for and protected.
She met Tony Sullivan who was serving as an altar boy at her church. They later fell in love, married, and had two children, David and Amy.
Marlene attended Butte Business College and Montana State University. She went on to work in the family business — Weber’s Paramount Beauty Supply — which she took over running upon her mother’s death. Upon retiring, she did real estate part-time until she retired for good. She retained her leadership role, however, earning the nickname “The General” because she loved to boss everyone around. She was quite proud of her beloved title.
Marlene leaves behind her son, David Sullivan; daughter, Amy (Denis) Cuchine; granddaughter, Brianna Sullivan; and granddogs, Eli, Sophi, and Laela.
Marlene’s family will forever remember her as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She had many special friends in her life–most notably: Julie Spolar, Rosemary Thurston, John Dwyer, and Pam Ryan. Thank you all for your many years of friendship.
Mom, we love you and miss you more than you will ever know. We know wherever you are, it is not far from the rainbow bridge.
A celebration of life will be held later this year. Marlene requested that any memorial donations be made to an animal shelter or animal-focused charity of your choice.

I was so sorry to see that Marlene Weber had passed away. Marlene and I started school in kindergarten together and went through high school. She was always such a nice person and had a devoted family. I reunited with her at the 30th class reunion and she was as kind and stylishly put together as always. I remember her big welcoming smile. David and Amy, I am so sorry for your loss.
