Marlene Louise Doyle passed away peacefully on the evening of February 7, 2025 at St. James Hospital in Butte. She was being visited and comforted by her two daughters, Mindi Peters and Dawn Doyle. She was 84 years old.
Marlene was born in Butte, Montana on June 18, 1940, to Victoria (Galetti) and Fred Bugni. She was one of six children raised in McQueen. She attended Butte schools and graduated from Butte High in 1958. She married Thomas Doyle and together they raised two daughters. Marlene’s love for her family was immeasurable, and her devotion to them remained steadfast throughout her life.
Marlene worked in Butte at various locations over her life and ultimately retired from the Montana Power. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, and watching her kids play sports earlier in life. Upon her retirement, she loved to shop, decorate her home, and hangout with her friends at the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victoria and Fred Bugni; her stepfather, Camillo Rodoni; her husband, Thomas; her in-laws, Russell and Thomas Doyle; and her brother, Fred Bugni.
Marlene is survived by her daughters, Mindi (Doug) Peters, and Dawn Doyle; grandsons, Robbie Colwell and Tristen Colwell (Dawn); great grandson, Liam Colwell (Robbie); sister, Sherry Rebich (Tony); brothers, Rich Bugni, Randy Rodoni, and Danny Rodoni (Sandy); and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marlene will be remembered for her unwavering love for those she held dear, her generous spirit, her sense of humor and the grace with which she faced life’s challenges. She had a deep connection to her roots in Butte and carried the lessons of her upbringing with her always.
Marlene’s memory will live on in the hearts of her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends whose lives she enriched with her presence.
The family would like to thank Big Sky Senior Living for taking such good care of our mother. A special thanks to Mylinda Dorscher who was a huge help and friend to her during her time living there.
