Margaret Theresa Holland, better known as Peggy, was born January 14th, 1953 in her hometown Butte MT to Dan and Stella Holland. She was the second oldest of 5 siblings who grew up on Waukesha. From the beginning to her end, a social butterfly who brought a light with her every place she went and will always be remembered for her contagious smile, a good joke, kind words and a sense of humor during the hardest of times, and most of all her strength.
Peggy attended school in Butte, later graduated HS and attended MT Tech. She kept many friendships throughout her life that she gained during those years, as well as later while working in banking and with the State of MT. Peg left Montana to spend time in California, and she would often recall it to be one of the best times in her life. She left a part of her heart there, for all whom she loved so dearly. Peggy had many hobbies throughout life including cross country skiing, cooking, traveling and going to basketball games. Any place that allowed her to be around others and with her love for kids she would always find a baby to hold or child to make laugh whether in a stadium or a mall.
With her infectious passion for helping others whether she was in a small town or a big city, she drew people to her love and light. Peggy was in her 39th year of sobriety this year, and her true love and commitment was giving her time, energy and fellowship to new comers and old timers within her recovery community. Peggy was a friend of Bill W. and if you were as well, she wanted to be a supportive contact in your life.
Peggy volunteered for the American Red Cross, helped with the Foundation of Our Lady of the Rockies, and looked for community gatherings that she could give a piece of herself to.
Peg was often the force that drove togetherness, keeping people in contact with one another and eagerly anticipating the next social event.
Peggy was a loving daughter, sister, godmother, auntie, Mom, nana, friend, and sponsor.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephany (Daniel), Sister Danette (Bill) Sprinkle, Brother Pat (Karen) Holland, Sister Marlene (Bob) Murdo, Brother Joe Holland, granddaughter Hannah and grandson Carter, Nieces and nephews Erin, Danny, Lacey (Mark), Shauna, Sabrina (Charlie), Dylan, Alycia (Jaison), Bryan and Danny. Great Nieces and nephews, Will, Stella, Joseph, Matthew, Margaret, Andrew and Luke, Grace, Braylon, Mila and Emery. Countless cousins and special friends and her very own earth angels, Robert Caldwell and Dana Hillyer.
Reunited in paradise with her grandparents, parents Dan and Stella, son in law Jake, and numerous aunts and uncles whom she was close to.

Stephanie, and Pat and family so sorry for your loss. I was absolutely shocked to hear of Peggy’s passing. It was a while go that she was my neighbor, such a kind person. She was the quietest neighbor I ever had, during that time she lived next to me she also became a good friend that you could talk to; I mean really talk to without worrying she was going to tell someone else what you talked about. She was one of the most giving people I have ever seen in my life, and so dedicated to her friend’s, and serious about things, that concerned family in a good way, not just her family, but others to. She was a kind an gentle person, I would always say hello to her when she was sitting on her porch, and she would always reply to be “What a beautiful Day”. I have missed her since she moved out, now I will miss her even more. I seen her standing by the convenience store after she moved out, and we had some pretty good conversations even after she had left. I was shocked to hear that she had passed away from one of my other neighbors. She already is sadly missed, and will be missed even more.

Having birthdays 13 days apart kept us together as sisters…she reminding me that I was OLDER and I letting her know that I was WISER! Peg’s recent mantra was to ‘stay young in the mind even if the body failed’! We shared our birthday calls in January of this year acknowledging the gifts of our lives together and the love that we shared for each other and our Haffey family.
‘Love Ya’ sweetie!
