Margaret L. Drew, age 91, of Dillon, MT, passed away Thursday, October 27th at St. James Hospital in Butte. She was born August 14th, 1931 in Stevensville, MT to Peter & Barbara Pfau.
She went to school 4 years in Stevensville before moving to Missoula, where she attended 2 years at Sacred Heart Academy. She graduated from high school in Stevensville when she was 16. She loved high school and was a cheerleader, probably starting her lifelong love of sports.
She married Donald Drew in December of 1949 and had 4 children, David (Kathie), Brenda (Scott) Cramer, Brian, and Philip. They enjoyed bowling, dancing, and trips to Jackpot. Don passed away in 1984.
Margaret worked many jobs in Missoula including Buttrey’s Food and Cracker Barrel restaurant, where she won employee of the year.
She owned and operated with Don and family the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants in Dillon and Hamilton.
Margaret moved back to Dillon to help with the family business, Sparky’s Garage restaurant, where she continued to be involved right up until her death. She met many new friends in Dillon.
In 2021, she moved to Big Sky Senior Living in Butte, where she made some new friends. She enjoyed bingo, card games, sing-a-longs and even exercise class.
Her greatest joy was being as close as possible to her family and friends whether in person, in writing, or on the phone. She loved bingo, cards, and playing the casino machines, 2 cruises, Grizzly football games and almost any other sporting event.
Margaret is survived by her four children, grand children Sean (Leah) Cramer, Kyla (Brad) Ward, Marcus, Cassandra, Chelsey, Christopher, & Brianne Drew, great grandchildren Ethan & Bella Cramer, London & Sayre Hyland, Adalyn & Violet Ward, Noelle & Zaria Edwardson and Emerson Drew.

I am really sorry to hear and see about the passing of Margaret. I always loved being around her and was happy to say she was my cousin. A friend of mine has never been to Montana so next summer, I’m taking her on a Montana tour, and I will make sure that I stop by Sparkey’s Garage to say “hi” and taste some of that delicious food I see and all the wonderful beers you carry. Not sure when it will be but I’ll be in touch when I’m on my way. My love and prayers to the whole family. your loss is a great one, because Margaret was an awesome person.
