Luther Dwane “Butch” Bellon, 66, Anaconda, MT passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 unexpectedly at home with his wife Vickie by his side.
Luther was born May 21, 1953 to Harvey and Dolly (Larson) Bellon. He was the oldest in the family of four children. He grew up in the West Valley and was proud to be a ‘West Valley Hoodlum.’
He attended anaconda Senior High where he met Vickie (Wright) who quickly stole his heart. They were married and recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
Together they welcomed their daughter Carla who he always referred to as “my favorite daughter.” She would always clarify that she was an only child as he would laugh at his wit.
Luther was a skilled and proud family man who never missed a day of work. He held many jobs throughout his career but driving trucks and operating heavy equipment is what ran through his veins. He retired from Montana Resources in July 2016.
When not riding his Harley with friends, he could always be found in the garage polishing his bikes or rebuilding an engine. Projects took on a life of their own with all the visitors stopping by and his gift for gab. He always had time for a cup of coffee and conversation with friends.
Luther was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Bellon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Virginia Wright; numerous aunts and uncles; and special friends.
Luther is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughter Carla (George) Strutzel; grandson Aric Luther Strutzel; brother-in-law, David (Jeannie) Wright; brother-in-law, Charles (Bob) Wright; bother-in-law, Jeff (Joanne) Wright; numerous family; countless friends.
At Luther’s request, no services will be held. Please see below offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Luther. Axelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been privileged to care for Luther and his family.

Luther was a friend of my parents for years and as a young girl, I remember he and Vicki to always treat me so well. They were like second parents. Luther and I shared a birthday and up until about 12 years ago, we would call each other to say Happy Birthday. Luther was so funny and to this day I remember the smell of his leather jacket. Sending hugs to you Vicki and Carla!
