Linda (Wall) Shrock of Butte, MT passed away surrounded by her family’s love on January 28, 2024, at the age of 80.
Linda was born in Butte on June 11, 1943, to John Wall and Genevieve Quinn-Wall.
She attended Butte Girl’s Central, and ultimately achieved a nursing degree from Saint Patrick’s Hospital. During her career, Linda spent time in many areas of nursing in many corners of Western Montana – from Butte to Missoula, and finally, to Plains where she lived for 33 years. It was in Plains where she raised her family and built an abundance of long-lasting friendships.
Additionally, Linda’s loving heart, drive and compassion led her to establish both a Home Health and School Nursing program for Sanders County.
Linda’s faith, generosity and curious spirit guided her through life and influenced everyone around her. Although her body became riddled by Rheumatoid Arthritis at a young age, she never let it stop her from doing the things she loved, including traveling to friends and family, spending time with her sister and best friend Carol, quilting, and attending her favorite annual party – St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown Butte.
Linda is survived by her sister Carol Booth (Ralph Booth); her children, Martin Shrock (Lisa Shrock), Gennifer Deschamps, Kevin Shrock (Lindsi Shrock), and Jeffery Shrock (Dana Shrock); her grandchildren, Jessica Hansen, Natalee Deschamps, Kemper Shrock, Madeline Shrock, Genevieve Deschamps, Alexis Shrock and Eva Shrock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on February 24, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4400 Continental Drive, Butte, MT. There will be a reception at the McQueen Athletic Club, 3250 Hecla Street, Butte MT, immediately following the service.
Interment will be held in Plains, MT at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Linda’s family wishes to honor her memory through charitable giving. Please donate to Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), or any non-profit organization making a positive, local impact.

Linda was a beautiful gentle lady who always had a smile. We shared greetings and love often as I visited her at meals at Big Sky, sitting with “the gals”. My heart is saddened that she will not be there next time…and I am sure all her friends will miss her presence there.
Love and prayers to Gennifer, Jessica, Natalee & Genevieve who I know
and to all the rest of the family that I have not met.
Plains is not the same without her. And Big Sky won’t be either.

Carol and Family,
I just heard today (02-04) of your sisters passing. I’m so sorry to hear of it. I’m remembering our days from grade school, high school, nursing school to times in AZ. What a kind wonderful woman and friend. I know how much pain she had, yet never complained. Today she’s free. Love and prayers to you all.

What an amazing and wonderful woman. She took me in as one of her own children, and will always be grateful for what she did for me. I would not be the father, husband, or man I am today with out her.

I remember Linda as a wonderful home health supervisor. She believed in treating the whole home not just the health problem. Without judgment! She was kind to all and would stand up for her staff. I remember when some people wanted the union at the hospital in Plains and the administrators met with us he said those of us that was from home health had nothing to complain about he had just negotiated with Linda and he knows now you better have all of your ducks in row because she does when she walks though the door.
