Leone Hivala Regan passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on October 27, 2019. Leone was 97 years old and born in Butte on November 16, 1921 to Mildred (Gerry) and Wayne Hivala. She was an only child but spent her childhood with her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Leone went to school and church in Butte and was a member of the Mountain View Methodist Church. She married her best friend Jack Regan on June 3, 1943, and they had one daughter.
Mom lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker, and caregiver for her grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren. She gave generously of herself, teaching everyone the importance of loving each other unconditionally and always showing kindness to everyone.
She loved her high heeled springulator shoes, kept an immaculate house (in her heels), and enjoyed her weekly outings for “lunch” with her group of lady friends. She loved her pets and will be missed by her companion Bella who took very good care of mom. Most of all she loved her family and instilled her strong values in each of us. These values will serve us all well. She always believed in forgiving but said you can forgive but do not forget. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, son-in-law Jack Thomas and husband Jack Regan. Leone is survived by her daughter and son in law Gerry and Pat Durkin; Grandchildren Deanne (Mark) Zora; Carole Durkin; and Ryan Durkin; Great-grandchildren Melissa Durkin; Niklaus Zora; Tyler Durkin (Megan); Jake Durkin; and Ayden Durkin; and Great-great-grandchildren Bridger and Bristol Corcoran.
All who knew her loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, and classiness and undying love and caring for them. She thanks each of you for being a part of her life.
Mom requested no services and wanted a private placement of ashes for family. Special thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers who became our friends. Thank you to Frontier Home Health (Monica, Stacy, Katie, and others with the Hospice program). A special thanks to Mom’s Special Angel Brenda who was always there. She loved all of you.

Gerry, I am sorry for your loss. I didn’t realize that she was still with until Marlene sent the obituary. So, now Marlene will be the last in the neighborhood that I would know. Sounds like you had a great family, and your mother was just as she was when we were growing up. She was a classy lady. Our best to you and Pat and the Durkin family as well.
