Kathleen “Kathy” I. Logan (78) received her angel wings and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 31, 2025. Kathy was born on January 22, 1947, in Butte, Montana to Patrick and Christine Meehan. Mom was the oldest of four children, even though she always joked she was the youngest. Mom grew up in Butte but later moved to Anaconda where she resided on the Logan Ranch. Mom attended Anaconda Central High and graduated in May of 1965.
On September 11,1965, Mom married the love of her life, Duane Logan. They shared many wild outdoor adventures together, but their greatest adventure and accomplishment was raising their three children Duane, Melissa and Marty. Mom had bounds of energy and never missed an event we were in. She was always running us to something, even though she worked a full-time job and ran Logan’s Greenhouse. We always wondered how someone could run on such little sleep. She never complained, she always gave us her all and loved us unconditionally.
As if Mom didn’t have enough on her plate raising us kids and working and running the greenhouse, she followed her calling and went back to school to become a nurse. She loved taking care of people. She worked at the Galen State Hospital and eventually retired from the Montana State Hospital after 30 years of service.
Mom was the most beautiful soul you could meet. She was a very genuine, loving and kind person. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had the most beautiful smile and the most infectious laugh. We are going to miss your laugh, Mom! At times, she was even quite the jokester. She loved every holiday and was always decorating the house and dressing up. She would show up at our houses to surprise us, always keeping us and the grandkids on our toes.
Mom was always busy with something. She was a member of the Anaconda Garden Club, Meals on Wheels, helped with cards at the Senior Center, and never missed a chance to hang out with her favorite Bunco ladies. She decorated the most beautiful and delicious cakes for family, friends and coworkers and had quite a green thumb, always planting flowers for herself and everyone else. Mom loved her flowers!
When Mom had free time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, puzzles, planting flowers, shopping and cooking. Mom was the most amazing cook. We will all miss her buttered everything, especially eggs and noodles! Mom’s favorite pastime, though, was being with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mom is preceded in death by her husband, Duane Logan, parents Patrick and Christine Meehan, father-in-law and mother-in-law Alva and Thelma Logan. brother and sister-in-law Patrick Meehan II and Judy Hafer Meehan, brothers-in-law Bobbie Logan and John Post, sisters-in-law Barbara Archdale and Mary Meehan, grandson Jeff Burch, and great grandsons Luke Martinez and Nate Logan.
Mom is survived by her son Duane “Logie” Logan Jr. (Connie), daughter Melissa Wolter (Dave), son Marty Logan (Andrea), sister Christy Post, brother Timmy Meehan, sister-in-law Darlene Reichen, grandsons Jason Burch, Jake Logan, Matthew Wolter (Amanda), Nicholas Wolter (MacKenzie), and Connor Logan, granddaughters Kristen Burch and Livi Logan, great grandchildren Logan Burch, Braylon Burch, McKenna Wolter, Marleigh Logan and two more arriving very soon and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Mom this Spring. Donations can be made to Camp Make a Dream, Breast Cancer Research such as Missoula Chicks n Chaps or Susan Komen Foundation, or by planting flowers each year in your yard.
God’s Garden
God looked around his garden and found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered “Peace be thine”. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
