In Memory Of

Karen Anita Mapes, Age 67, of Butte

January 29, 1954 – January 10, 2022

Karen Anita Mapes, 67, of Butte, Montana, passed on January 10,2022. She was born to Hugh and Helen Reid in Butte, Montana on January 29, 1954.
She married William Earl Mapes senior in 1973 and lived together in Butte, Montana.
Together they raised 2 children, William Earl Mapes junior and Jason Charles Mapes. She also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Destiny Mapes, Brian Mapes, Hunter Mapes, and Dalton Mapes.
Karen was greeted to heaven by her Mother Helen and Father Hugh Reid, along with her Sister Bella Reid, Brother Jimmy Reid, and Sister in-law Maria Mapes.
Karen graduated from Butte high school, and continued her education becoming a passionate cosmetologist. She also loved to craft as a hobby and was very talented.
We lost a special lady with Karen, she saw the magic in all things and was able to put words to it. Her warm demeanor was infectious and her laugh, a comfort to the ear. Anyone who knew Karen knew she had a big heart and was a great friend.
She loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Karen is now at peace surrounded by the light.
Memorial service details will be released at a later date.
