Karen Ann Hancock passed away in her home during the early hours of January 1st, 2022 due to natural causes. She was surrounded by her beloved husband and daughter.
Karen was born on April 29th, 1963 in Payson, Utah to Mary and Lawrence Haus (Anaconda/MillCreek). She attended school at Beaverdam and graduated high school in Elko, Nevada which is where she and her husband Dana would eventually run off to be married on July 9th, 1983. Her favorite story was how she was introduced to Dana by her best friend, and Dana’s brother, Donald. Karen and Dana welcomed their first child, Michael Seth Hancock into the world in 1985. Their daughter Honey Ann Hancock followed in 1990. Her children were the light of her life.
Karen was the most kind hearted mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend. She never turned anyone away if they needed help. Many would refer to her as the neighborhood mom as her arms and kindness were welcomed to all. She loved helping others so much that she dedicated her life to being a CNA for Anaconda’s elderly for many, many years. When Karen wasn’t helping others she would spend her time camping, fishing, hunting, horses, snowmen and anything that involved an adventure. Especially when her grandchildren were included.
Karen has been greeted in the afterlife by her mother, Mary Haus, Father, Lawrence Haus, and Brother, Thomas Haus. She is survived by her husband, Dana Hancock (Anaconda), Sister, Irene Stark & her husband (Kenny) (Kanasa), Son, Michael Hancock (Breeze), their son Ryder, Daughter, Honey Casey (Anaconda), her three children Alaina, Serenity and Raymond and many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Although not with us, Karen’s beautiful spirit will be held in all our hearts forever. Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.

I worked with Karen as a nurse in DeerLodge and then in Anaconda. As a CNA she also took care of my husband, Tim. Know that I share your sadness and your loss. We will all miss her. Anita and Tim Hamm

My mom was such a amazing soul. She was beautiful and kind and she would take the shirt off here back to help anyone even if she ended up hurt in the long run. I wasn’t ready for you to go so soon.

So sorry for your loss, my prayers goes out to Karen’s family. I visited with Karen nearly every time I stayed with Mary in the winter time during the last 8 years. Karen always stopped by to see and talk to her mom. You will always have her memories in your hearts.

Mom was a die hard fisherman, die hard hunter, and once broke her ankle gold mining. She did not care what type of fishing it was, so long as you knew there was no whining while ice fishing. She always went hunting, even if was just to find elk and say we’re not walking up there. The broken ankle incident, so the world knows, we found gold on “broken ankle hill”. My mother had a massive impact in Anaconda though her many years at the Nursing home in Anaconda, many families express gratitude for my mother’s care of their loved ones. We are a stronger because of knowing her. Oh and never forget to yell every morning camping, “What a beautiful morning, and oh what beautiful day”. – Love ya Mom –

We’ve laughed, We’ve cried We’ve been mad at each other, even hated each other. But we grew up together our whole lives, then married brothers. You’ve always had a piece of my heart, and that still remains. I will miss you forever. 😢😇❤ fly high and watch over everyone. Until we meet again, I will keep you in my thoughts.
