June Ann (Cyr) Blodgett was born to Edward and Ann (Kovacich) Cyr on June 8th, 1936. She passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2025, at home and surrounded by loved ones.
She worked many restaurants in Anaconda, including Bill’s Drive Inn, Whistle Stop, Park Café, Mayne’s Bowling Alley Drive In, and Echo Lake Lodge until it was destroyed by fire. She later went to work at Montana State Hospital (Galen) for 30 years in food service. She retired in 1990.
She loved cooking for family and friends who would drop by, and she loved to crochet. Many of her pieces have won blue ribbons at the Deer Lodge Fair and Billings Fair.
She met the love of her life, Donald Blodgett, and was married in 1955, until he lost his life in an avalanche in 1995.
They opened the only Harley Davidson motorcycle shop in Anaconda, the D & J Cycle Shop, in 1960. It was later destroyed by fire and never reopened. They were members of the Anaconda Saddle Club, Anaconda Search & Rescue, and the Anaconda Snowmobile Club. They enjoyed spending time outdoors.
June is preceded in death by her husband Donald; her parents, Edward and Ann Cyr; siblings: her twin brother Edward, John, Ted, Jerry, Anthony; and step-brother Paul Kovacich.
She is survived by her son, James D. (Teresa) Blodgett of Missoula, daughter Jeanne Derenburger of Anaconda, step son Marlin Overton (Jeanne Mulvey); granddaughters Selena Derenburger of Anaconda, Melanie (Mica) Blodgett, Miranda (Blue) Blodgett of Missoula, Sherri Long (Doug) of Las Vegas; grandsons Rory Derenburger of Anaconda, James R. Blodgett of Anaconda, and Greg Blodgett of Missoula; her sister Kathy Neville and family of Billings and brother T.J. Cyr of Anaconda; nephew Jim Booth of Stevensville, Linda Cyr (Ted) and Sherrill Kovacich (Paul); her very good friend Loma Vinson; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
June requests services to be private for family and friends. She will be buried next to her husband Don at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Anaconda.
