Judith M. (Weishaar) Lester of Butte, Montana passed quietly surrounded by her children on Monday, June 6, 2022.
She was born in Elgin, North Dakota on September 5, 1941, to Albert “Shorty” and Doris (Price) Weishaar. When Judi was 3 her family moved to Great Falls, Montana. Then the summer before she started 6th grade, her family moved to Butte, Montana. Judi graduated Butte High School in May of 1959.
On October 13, 1960, Judi married Jim Campbell and together they had four children: Kari, Craig, Kimi, and Kelly. For her children, Judi served as a member of the Whittier Elementary PTA, as a leader of the Pussy Willows Junior Garden Club and a Blue Bird Leader.
On April 15, 1975, Judi married Fred Lester and they had one son Shane Lester. Judi and Fred moved the family several times and shared adventures all over the eastern seaboard. No matter where they lived, Butte was always home – they happily returned home permanently in 1986.
Judi will be remembered for her love of crafts, especially fiber arts. She was a lifetime learner and enjoyed pursuing new subjects and hobbies. Her love of reading is shared by all her daughters and granddaughters.
At her passing, Judi joined all of her grandparents, her parents, her husband Fred and her daughters Kari Campbell and Kimi Robinson in Heaven.
She is survived by her children: Craig and Jeanie (Waugh) of Como, Colorado; Kelly Campbell of Butte; Shane and Kelly (Mapston) Lester of Billings, Montana; her grandchildren Ashley Robinson Kelsey; Ryen Ford; Tiana Behr; Cody Campbell; Austin Lenhard; Katie Simmons; Connor Campbell; and Jared Lester; her great grandchildren: Charli; Amara; Lela; Jessica and Octavia; her sisters: JoAnn (Weishaar) Mackey; and Diana (Weishaar) Ayerhart.
