Joseph “Hoss” Pierce passed away May 18, 2024 at home after a battle with cancer. He was 63 years old. Joseph Pierce was born in Deer Lodge, Montana on January 24, 1961 to Ernest and Evelyn Pierce. Jospeh served in the Army for ten years. He worked at Montana State Prison and was a logger, he was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed working with wood and small engines. He could restore just about anything. Joseph loved the outdoors. His dogs were always by his side, whether it be fishing, camping or getting wood. They were his pride and joy.
Joseph is survived by his chihuahuas, Al and Lucy; as well as by his brothers, Karl Pierce, and Pat Pierce; his sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Stone, Tina Pierce, Irma Pierce Morrell, and Rosa Pierce.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Evelyn Pierce; brothers, Ernest Jr., Blaine, Evan, and Cliff; sisters Delia and Eva Pierce.
A memorial service will be held at the LDS Church in Deer Lodge, June 29, at 12 pm with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Deer Lodge VFW.
