I just recently heard of Jim’s passing. I had the pleasure of caring for Jim at The Springs of Butte from September 2020 to April 2021. His smile could light up a room. My condolences are with his family.

I knew Mr. Anderson as a teacher and member of our Lutheran church. He was always active in the church and was always there for every function, program, and recital! Jim was always there for his students too; as a junior high science teacher and a coach. Now that I am a junior high teacher, I probably have more respect and admiration for what he did with his classes. It’s a real measure of a teacher’s abilities to develop lessons that last a lifetime. He taught us compas/mapping skills, measuring plots, and collecting insects. He also brought us down to plant the trees in front of the police station and courthouse. Growing up by “the football field” I remember his faded blue and yellow blazer a common sight after school hours get equipment ready for games and events. He did this selflessly for all the kids knowing that his own kids were without their dad for the evening.
