Jacob Garver Siddoway— beloved son, brother, and father born on May 3,1983 to Dr Paul Ryan Siddoway and Mary Ellen Siddoway, passed away suddenly at the early age of 39 on June 22, 2022 in Tampa Florida. Jake had found his own little paradise living on the Bay in Tampa with his beautiful daughter Hunter.
Jake grew up in Butte, Montana. He was an exceptional hockey player and proudly played in several state championships with the Butte Blues. In his sophomore year of high school he was recruited by the Vail Colorado Avalanche where he graduated from high school and went on to fiercely compete and proudly represent Butte throughout the US and Canada in the AAA hockey league. Jake graduated from the University of Montana where he received a B.S. in Biology. He led a successful career in the medical field as a clinical research manager with Senseonics in Germantown, Maryland and was critically involved in the development of a new implantable glucose monitoring device to help improve the life of those suffering with diabetes.
Jake was truly unique. He excelled at everything he did from a very young age. He often went beyond his comfortable limits in all he pursued to accomplish more than one thought possible. He had the courage to live beyond the boundaries of traditional thought and he took pride in meeting and overcoming challenges. He had little tolerance for injustices and an innate sense to protect those in need. He spoke his mind, his truth and never looked back. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and hiking, yet nothing was more important to him than love for his daughter Hunter. She was in fact his world. He had a strong, fit stature and wore his self-created tattoos like fine art. He had a smile that would melt your heart in an instant and the glimmer in his eye shined directly from the center of his soul. Jake was a beautiful complex man, who has left this earth way too soon.
Jake is preceded in death by his grandparents John and Beverly Siddoway and Leonard Schabadach. He is survived by his daughter Hunter, Deb Yan mother of Hunter, parents Paul and Mary Ellen, brother Nick, future sister in law Jocelyn, sister Megan and brother in law Jake Reid, niece Millie Mae and nephew Ryan River, grandmother June Schabdach, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. We are forever blessed to have shared life on earth with Jake. Words can not express how much Jake will be missed.
Friends and family are welcomed to join the celebration of Jake’s life on Thursday June 30 at 1:30pm with visitation starting at 12 pm at Front Street Station, 800 E Front St., Butte, MT 59701. Jakes family encourages those who wish to visit with them to come during the visitation as a reception will not follow the service.
Memorials in honor of Jake are suggested to the American Diabetic Association by visiting diabetes.org or to the Butte Community Ice Center, 1700 Wall St, Butte, MT 59701.

Jake was my neighbor in Tampa. I’ve have the pleasure of getting to know him and his daughter, Hunter, over the past 3-4 years, he was a great guy, and an even better father.
I always commended him for how he was raising Hunter, and being so involved in her life. He would take her fishing, swimming, to the aquarium, hockey games, and so much more. We all fished together and took our dogs to the park quite a few times.
A year ago my AC broke, and while he was staying in California, he kindly offered for me to stay at his place until mine was fixed. I will never forget his acts of kindness and all the great conversations we had.
I’m deeply saddened by the news of his passing, it was way to soon. My deepest condolences to his family.
If there is anything I can do, please don’t hesitate to reach out. God bless.

I had the pleasure of working with Jake over the past 8 years. He was always so calm, cool and collected. One of my favorite memories with him was when he sparked an interest of crypto and stocks with me and some coworkers and we became like a little investing family, with Jake as our go-to for advice and leader. It was short lived but a very special memory for me. I worked closely with him the last three years as a 2 person team and relying on each other to get our work accomplished and considered him a good friend. He was a wonderful father and a great person. This news still doesn’t feel real.
Jake, you will truly be missed and greatly appreciated for all the wonderful things you have done and were. God bless you and your family.

Dear Siddoway Family,
I am at a loss for words. I still have a hard time believing Jake is gone. My sincerest condolences. I had the pleasure of serving as Jake’s manager for ~4 years at a research lab. I found him to be very intelligent, possessing of a great work ethic, and extremely driven to succeed. That manager employee relationship gradually changed to a friendship over time. I will remember Jake for his infectious smile, sense of humor, and his uncanny ability to remain calm in times of stress. My heart goes out to his beautiful daughter Hunter, the entire Siddoway family, and all who loved him. He was truly taken from us way too soon and will be missed.

My condolences to the family. When losing a loved one it can be unbearable. That is why God has provided scriptures in the Bible to help one’s cope with the loss of a loved one. In the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 Jehovah God promises soon to “swallow up death forever.” He also promises to bring back those who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15). In a little while longer this kind of pain will be a thing of the past (Revelations 21:4). May these scriptures bring you comfort in this difficult time (jw.org)
Kevin Dines says
I remain truly shocked at this tragic news and can only offer my sincerest condolences to Jake’s family and loved ones. Jake was a valued colleague of mine for ~ 4 years in a research lab and he always impressed with his consistent work ethic, high standards, strong moral compass and enviable practical skills – but more than this, I think I shall remember Jake most for always just being so calm and collected. He would not be rushed and always wanted to do the very best job possible. We have kept in touch since our careers went in slightly different directions and through that, his sense of humour continued to make itself present, as did the fact that he was a proud and brilliant Dad. I am grateful for having had the chance to know Jake and he will be deeply missed.

Our love and prayers are with the Siddoway family. I have fond memories of playing hockey in Butte with Nick (Jake’s younger brother) while growing up. Jake and his hockey buddies were a positive influence on us; as young men and student athletes. It’s inspiring to read everyone’s kind and heartfelt words, they are just a sliver of Jake’s positive impact on the world in such a short amount of time. He will be remebered! Please accept our dearest condolences.

I had the pleasure of having Jake as my manager at Senseonics. We became friends right away. I attribute my success in my position to him. He’s been the best mentor that anyone could ask for in every aspect of life, while being an even better friend. He made the absolute best out of every work trip taken together, hiking the grand Tetons, exploring the best parts of Seattle, and even just talking about life over a drink(IPA’s specifically). The knowledge and wisdom Jake passed down to me I could never put price on. He was an incredible father and person to everyone around him. To me he was like an older brother that I never had and for this I will always be grateful for the good times and memories.
Thank you Jake.

I was a friend of Jakes in Tampa, I had the pleasure of being his neighbor and friend at Culbreath Key. We were fishing buddies but more than that, he was always someone I could talk to about anything. I was beyond appalled when I heard of his passing, and whether I should or not, I’m still going to great lengths to find out exactly what happened to such a healthy young man. It breaks my heart that his beloved Hunter will have to grow up without him. Jake was the only person I had to hang out with down here, as I myself, am not from here originally. We had the same interests, being that I’m from WV and he was from Montana. We talked about the mountains and deer hunting a lot. I pray that his family can get past this grief and Hunter remembers just how much her father loved her. God Bless. I’ll remember Jake and his memories will live on forever.
