On Thursday, May 15, 2025, we lost a beautiful soul. Ruth (Robinson) Boylan joined her husband, Ray, along with family and friends in Heaven at the young age of 92. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends.
Ruth was born August 4, 1932 in Harlowton, Montana to Raymond and Marie Robinson. She was the 3rd child in a family of six. She loved sharing stories of their time growing up in Harlowton, from her mom plucking a turkey, to sharing a bed with her siblings, and having the time of their lives.
Ruth graduated from Butte High School where she was an active member of the tumbling team. While in high school, she also worked at J.C. Penny’s, and did some modeling for the company. She held many jobs in Butte from a teacher’s aide to bookkeeper. Ruth retired from the Montana Power where she worked for the real estate department, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. After retirement, she worked two days a week at Heavenly Occasions, which was right up her alley as she was surrounded by all things beautiful.
On September 5th, 1953, Ruth married George Stanich. Though their marriage ended, together they shared 3 children: George, Paulette, and Tom. On her 38th birthday, while working at Woolworth’s, she met Ray Boylan. They married December 27, 1971 and were together for 54 years. Together they raised thoroughbred horses. Many happy days were spent at the racetracks around Montana.
Ruth was very creative and crafty, taking ceramics for many years. Her crowning achievement was her beautiful Mother of Pearl Nativity Scene. She was also a member of the Butte Saddle Club where she met many people and made many friends. Being a social butterfly, the ticket taking job was meant for her. Her dream of attending the Kentucky Derby was realized in 2013, what a great time she had!
In addition to her parents, Ruth was proceeded in death by her husband, Ray, son George, mother-in-law, Pearl, aunt Marion, sisters: Hazel, Helen, and Thelma, brother, Gene, niece, Linda, and nephews, Rick, Gerald, and Keith.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Paulette Stanich (John Coles); son, Tom Stanich; grandson, Bill Stanich (Jennifer); great-grand- children, Jacob, Jaicey, and Jackson; sister, Betty Roberts; as well as many very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Those who knew Ruth will remember her for her infectious smile and overwhelming laughter.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Stillwater Hospice nurses and aides, the staff at the Springs Living, Dr. Paul Siddoway, along with our extended family and friends for their love, support, phone calls, visits, and prayers during this time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm, Friday, May 23, at the Finlen Hotel, Treasure State Ballroom, 100 E Broadway St, Butte, MT 59701.
