George Steven “Chip” Noyd passed away on May 29, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula surrounded by his loving wife and two boys. Chip was born in Butte, Montana July 6, 1963. He attended school in Butte and graduated from Butte High. After high school he was employed at Fairmont Hot Springs where he met his future wife Denise. He went on to attend DeVry University in Phoenix Arizona and graduated first in his class. He went on to work in Chandler Arizona for Intel before returning to his beloved Montana.
Chip married the love of his life, Denise John on September 16, 1989. They settled in Anaconda and raised two boys who were the light of their parent’s eyes and surrounded by Chip’s unconditional love. In Montana Chip was employed by Zayo as Network Engineer/Manager of Design and Service Delivery of Telecommunications.
Chip was the consummate husband and father who put his family first. Chip’s coworker told the family that all he talked about was Denise and his boys and how much he loved them. They were his world. He supported his children in their cross country, golf and motorcross events. Chip loved snowmobiling, NASCAR, side by side riding and anything else that involved his children and their adventures. He was always there to help with anything that needed fixing not just for his boys but their friends too. The Noyd cabin at Georgetown Lake was a gathering point at the start or end of an adventure whether it be summer or winter. Chip was the first one to look for a part to fix a snowmobile or motorbikes so Jared and Jordan and their friends could get back to having fun. He was patient and kind and will be remembered by countless young people who had the pleasure of making lasting childhood memories with Chip and his boys. He enjoyed a special relationship with his mother-in-law, Betty and welcomed her into their home for twelve years until her death. His relationship with Denise was one of mutual respect and love. They finished each other’s sentences and their thoughts were in sync which provided them with ongoing amusement.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Noyd, Louise Olson Noyd Berube; his brother, Bobby Noyd, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Betty John; and sister-in-law, Sandy. He is survived by his wife Denise; sons, Jared and Jordan; sisters, Nancy (Wade) Dahood, Margie Noyd, Diane (Rick) Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to Covid Restrictions a private family service will be held at Holy Family Church on June 13, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. Denise,
This is Greg Spencer. Remember me from Intel/Chandler Az. I was thinking about George and Dave Peffley as I often do and decided to see if I could find them. I knew you guys were in Montana. I so enjoyed you guys while I was at Intel. As you know I then moved to Gresham Oregon. I am still there. Been married for 30 years and retired for 6 years. I discovered this on line and so wished I had pursued this much earlier. I am so sorry to hear about my friend and co-worker George. If you get this message please email me. I would also like to know how to contact Dave Peffley if you have the information. I always appreciated the good times and great friendship we all had. Very good time of my life.
Hope to hear from you Denise
Love, Greg Spencer. Greshamgreg@comcast.net
