Francis (Dad, Grandpa) George Cleland on the 21st of September, 2022, at around 2:30 p.m. passed away at home surrounded by his family in Butte, Montana. He was 77 years old. He was born on August 29, 1945, in Cutbank, Montana, to Virginia Lamere and Lou Cleland.
He was an honest and good man, would help anyone in need. He couldn’t go anywhere someone didn’t know him. He would go to Walmart for a gallon of milk and be there for hours just visiting people he knew. He was an underground miner from here to everywhere – Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, among some of the places. Until a tragic accident took him away from that in 1997. After recovering from that he was a stay-at-home grandpa. He loved his kids and grandkids. He also had Luci and Roxi, his dogs he doted on and loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacque Cleland in June of 2020. His granddaughter, Franny Cleland, July 5, 1992, and daughter, Rhinda Smith, September 14, 1994. Leaving behind his children, Thomas and Brenda Fury of Love Lock, NV. Clayton and Calvin Cleland of Butte, MT, Melody Collier, Kippi Tucker, Stephanie Santos, Shanna Worl, of Butte, MT, and Jennel Cleland from Billings, MT.
Grandchildren Russell Geary of Ronan, MT, Thomas Fury III from Great Falls, MT, Caleb Cooper and Dee Jack from Butte, MT. Stefani Cooper from Helena, Kyrstin Cleland, Michealin Mulcahy, Raven Fury, and Jacque Fury from Butte, and several great-grandkids and one great-great-grandson, Tommy Mulcahy.
His brothers Lynn, Cary and Ricky Cleland and sisters, Kay, and Virgelene.
He will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
