I just really enjoyed speaking with Forrest when he would come into my office. He would talk about his crop duster days and just was always really kind to me and was trying to take care of his friend Ed. He was a good friend to Ed. He would drive into Butte sometimes on a daily basis. I helped him fill out some paperwork for his friend and he was truly grateful for that and expressed it on many occasions. Sad to see he has passed away. I will miss seeing him come into visit. My prayers to his family and I hope Forrest rests in peace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew Forrest. We had many conversations about his days in Hawaii since we also spent time in Hawaii. We will truly miss seeing him and visiting at church. Rest in peace, Forrest!

Forrest always meant the world to me. We spent so many years mule deer hunting with him in northern Montana and his smile every year I got a deer said how proud he was of me! He’d come to our house in Basin and check on mom and I multiple times a week. He brought me to his house to show me all his cool things he loved collecting and talk about his crop dusting days often! Truly someone with an amazing heart that will truly be missed!

Honor is due the man Forrest Klies. He did his task as he saw it. It must be said of Forrest that he was his own man.

Forrest’s Mother, in spite of her own PHD degree, stayed at home to raise her children. He told me that she had often told him “If I have taught you to work hard, live on little, and seek after GOD – I have done my duty!” To a very meaningful extent she succeeded in her duty!
