Todd and Paul, I’m saddened by the passing of your Mom but have so many great memories of her-except for the B in English. Her deep friendship with our Mom was an example for all of us. I was surprised at her memory of things both that our families did together and about each of us. Her support of our family was unwavering and genuine. We’ll all miss her but know she lived a full life and made life better for a lot to a lot of people.

I still remember so much from Mrs. Wallin’s classes at Powell County Hugh School. She was an exceptional teacher, and I’ve often credited her for teaching me the basics of essay writing that got me into and through University (including essays that I submitted to get scholarships). She was the classiest woman I’ve ever known. My sister and I used to marvel that we couldn’t remember seeing her wear the same outfit twice in all the years we had classes with her. What an amazing and elegant woman. I feel honored to have been one of her students.

Todd, Terri, Paul, and Barb, our families have been so intertwined. I remember the first time you came for dinner at our house when you we were all very young. The friendship between our moms that blossomed from that time was so supportive for both of them. It seemed like our phone ringer sounded different when it was your mom calling! When I saw her two weeks ago, she was appreciating her life with Lloyd and all four of you and all the adventures. It was a rich life. I hold many memories in my heart. Love, Sue Olsen Dostal

Mrs. Wallin was one of my favorite people. She taught me so much about being genuine, kind, gracious. I will always remember her!

Todd & Terri – You know how I treasured her. Would second the comment above – “She was the classiest woman I’ve ever known.” But I’m laughing at Susie’s ” It seemed like our phone ringer sounded different when it was your mom calling! “. Here’s trusting she’s in the realm where that kind of uncommon grace comes from.

Mrs. Wallin was such a kind soul; our families attended the same church while I was growing up; she and Lloyd always made me feel welcome there, they were so attentive, helpful and supportive! Prayers go out for their sons and families, and may many special memories encourage them, and the knowing of reuniting one day!.

I taught with Eleanor at Powell Co. Not only was she a devoted teacher, she was kind and devoted to providing her students a well-rounded education every day. She was also the classiest dresser at school, and everyone admired her wardrobe and jewelry combinations! She always warmly asked about others and what they were doing or what they had just read. Eleanor was interested in the people around her and it was always evident. I can still hear her sweet little laugh. She was a treasure and will be missed by many.

Todd & Paul…
On Sunday, Mom gave me the sad news that your mother had passed the day before. She said “Now it’s just Art and Joan and myself.” She is cheered by all the happy memories and fun times with your parents and Martin and Marvel. My parents so highly valued the friendship of your’s.

What a loss to all who knew her. Mrs. Wallin was beautiful inside and out, and so very classy. I looked forward to going to Freshman English, she was the best and reflecting back, I still use the skills she taught me. She gave me a love of mythology. She was amazing, even recently I would run into her and visit. She remembered so much about me from high school and would ask about my friends by name which was unbelievable to me. She was so very sharp, and had a way of making you feel very special. She and Lloyd were a beautiful couple, and we thought the world of both of them. Lives well lived! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Eleanor was so sweet and loving, but with such a smart and funny wit. I enjoyed so much getting to know her better the past couple of years and miss her terribly. It kind of feels like the end of an era. Condolences to family and friends. ♥️
