This took my breath away! I didn’t know Doug long just met him at Cinder park when he would be walking Red! He seemed like a kind soul. When he told me he had to go back for more treatment I prayed for him ! When he came home last week after treatment I looked out my back window and saw Red roaming around but no Doug, one of our neighbors that has a black lab pup was walking in the park at the same time. With not seeing Doug she and I were both worried that maybe he fell while walking Red. We walked Red to Doug’s apartment someone had left his gate opened. When Doug answered the door I could tell he was very week I told him that we would catch up later he needed to rest and regain his strength. I never got to visit with him and I am so sorry ! To his son I am so very sorry about your loss!

My husband and I knew Doug from the dog park. We always enjoyed seeing him. We would laugh about Red not liking to get her feet wet so she would stay on the sidewalk instead of walking on the grass. It was always a good day at the dog park when we could see Doug and Red.

I met Doug and Red at the dog park. He enjoyed throwing the ball for my dog Elvis. You could just see the love he had for life. He was upbeat, funny and had a way of telling stories. You would never have known he was going through such a trail. I will miss him.
