Cynthia passed away March 31st, 2022 at the age of 88 peacefully in her sleep at Big Sky Living. She was born in Hope, ND Aug.28, 1933 to Ned and Anna Chesley. They moved to Butte when she was 8 years old where she attended Butte public schools and Business College.
She worked for St. James Community Hospital for 35yrs, 10 on the floors and 25 in Surgery. After retirement she became a Senior Companion .She worked at Mountain View Development until retiring at age 80. She would always say “That’s where God wanted me to be.” She loved each and every special client including her brother Homer, who was with them for 16 years. She crocheted beautiful afghan blankets for family & friends. Cynthia was famous for making her party pasties for all to enjoy. She was an active member in Aldersgate church, St. James auxiliary and red hats. She loved to play cards and bingo.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her husband Joe (Fred), her parent’s Ned and Anna Chesley, and siblings Francis, Edwa, Thearle, Homer, and Mary West, daughter Debbie, son Dave, and grandson Nick Sullivan.
Cynthia is survived by her children Fred (Charlotte), Dianna (Nick), Trudy (Scott), Brenda (Mick), Brian (Julie), grandchildren Kellieann, David, Kim (Kyle), Joe (Heidi), Travis (Josie), Josh (Lauren), John (Cari), Lacey, Seth (Kristina), Jade (Christina), and Cynthia. Cynthia has a total of 16 great grandchildren. She loved and adored all of her family.
A special thanks to her friend Ingrid, countless friends and staff at Big Sky Senior Living. Services, privately organized by the family, will be held Tuesday April 5th at 11:00am at Aldersgate United Methodist with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the local BSW or Mountain View Development Center.

I had many good times with Cynthia when I lived at Big Sky. We ate most of our meals together and had lots of card games. She was a sweet lady. My condolences to her family.
