Chester passed peacefully at his residence with loved ones around. Chester was born in Helena, Montana on October 31st , 1960. His parents were Ron and Muriel McOmber. He attended grade and high school in Phillipsburg, Montana. He held many jobs working logging, heavy equipment operator, and heavy equipment mechanic. He loved motorbike riding, snowmobiling, and camping and fishing at Medicine Lake with family and friends.
Chester is survived by his wife, Sharon McOmber (Hiltunen); his children, Bobby (Karen), Sarah, Joseph Sr., Ronnie, Fawn, and Brandon; his sisters and brothers and their spouses, Stan (Cindy), Rona (Frank), Sandy (Bob), Scott (Leigh), and Catherine (Charles); brother-in-laws, Mike and Melvin Hiltunen; his grandchildren, Hayden, Joseph Jr, Blake, John, Brad, and Lucas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Muriel McOmber; and his niece Juniper.
Chester was a loved husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and friends.
Services will be held in July of 2025.

Chet and I hadn’t seen or spoken in more than 45yrs but were close in grade school. The one memory i never forgot was we took a bottle of christian brother brandy from his dad’s basement and drank the the whole bottle in the weeds behind the movie theater i think we were about 11 or 12 we were two VERY sick puppies next day. So sorry for your lose.
