Cheryl Lynn McKeown of Butte, Montana passed away peacefully in her residence on Friday, February 17th, 2023.
She was born on March 25th, 1950 in Adrian Michigan and was the daughter of Howard and Gwylla Shough.
Cheryl was retired, her profession was cosmetology for many years, she also held other skilled employment positions through the years, among them, being a Union worker at the General Motor’s Fischer Body plant in Tecumseh Michigan, She also did phlebotomy for workers compensation claims for multiple tech. corporations, and was a sincerely respected employee of Gibson Guitar Manufacturing in Bozeman Montana for several years, during which, she assisted in the meticulous work that was put into manufacturing the “Black Pearl” guitar that was given to Johnny Depp at the Oscar Awards for his lead role as Jack Sparrow, Captain of the Black Pearl in Pirates of the Caribbean, the guitar emblazoned with gold coins and all.
Cheryl enjoyed spending any and all of her free time with her husband Tony camping, hunting and fishing. She loved spending time with her ever growing family and multitude of friends and most importantly she shared with Tony an amazing life set in the vast beauty of God’s country and that’s a “truism”.
Cheryl loved and held in very high regard both her immediate and extended family, she cherished good company and good people. Though we will all sadly miss the sincerest love and joy that she shared with us all, Cheryl had very strict wishes to not have a viewing or a funeral service as well as strict wishes for her cremation. Cheryl did ask for everyone to please not mourn her passing in sadness but, to please celebrate, share and speak of only the wonderful and prosperous life that she lead, the many hearts she touched along the way, the light that she brought to many of our dark days, she wants those that truly knew her to simply smile and give a few moments of pure and selfless thought that in each of our own minds she will live on joyously, lovingly and eternally as we, friends and family ourselves continue to grow. For those who knew my mother well as friends, on behalf of our family we thank you for your understanding and patient cooperation for Cheryl’s final wishes.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her brother Rodney “Rod” Shough as well as her husband of 23 years Anthony “Tony” McKeown.
