In Memory Of

Brittany Rae Powley, 30, Butte, MT

September 28, 1988 – June 21, 2019

On June 21, 2019 Brittany Rae Powley left this world to be in everlasting peace after many years of battling depression and multiple health issues.

Brittany was born in Helena, Montana, the youngest child to Steven and Debbie Powley on September 28, 1988. She attended schools in Helena graduating from Capital High School in 2007.

Brittany had many hobbies through her life. These included baking, doing crafts, listening to music, her love of the Grizzlies, fishing, taking pictures, and watching movies with her family. She also had a love for gaming and vintage Nintendo. Brittany loved to celebrate and decorate for holidays, her favorite one being Halloween.

Brittany’s laugh was contagious and unique as was her sense of style, often sporting colorful hair and collecting horror movie memorabilia. She was a proud Libra and had compassion for animals, especially her cat, Mouse, who was the love of her life.

Brittany had several jobs starting at a young age with her most recent as a Mental Health Associate at Acadia in Butte, MT.

Brittany leaves behind her parents, Steven and Debbie Powley of Butte, Grandmother Janet Powley of Butte, Sister Sydnee (Scott) Powley of Spokane, WA, Sister Amanda (Gary) Clarke of Littleton, CO, and numerous nieces, cousins, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends who loved her more than she knew. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, named Mouse.

Brittany had a kind and generous heart and will be greatly missed by many. We wish we could hold you Britt and tell you everything will be alright. “Shine” by Collective Soul had a special meaning to Brittany during her cancer treatment several years ago. Be the star in the sky that shines on us Brittany…Shine on.

Cremation arrangements are being made under the direction of Axelson Funeral and Cremation Services.

A celebration of Brittany’s life will be held later. In lieu of cards the family is asking for donations in Brittany’s name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

I’m at such a loss of words. I wish i were a better friend these last few years. I will always cherish the great memories we had hanging out when we were younger. “My dearest friend, if you don’t mind, i’d like to join you by your side where we can gaze upon the starts and sit together now and forever for it is plain as anyone can see, were simply meant to be” Jack Skellington in Nightmare Before Christmas. I will always think of you when i watch this movie.

My sweetest Brittany. There aren’t enough words to express my love I have and the pain I’m in. Every moment of everyday I think of you and find myself connecting you to everything around me. I secretly wish the departed did walk this earth just to know your with me to watch me grow old. The memory of you and our love will live within me forever. I love you baby sister .
