Bernard (Bing) Opie passed away unexpectedly at his home in Henderson, Nevada, Sunday November 24th, 2024.
Bing was born in Butte May 2, 1970. Bing attended Webster Garfield Elementary and Butte High School. He graduated from Montana Tech with an accounting degree, also earning his Masters in accounting.
At the time of his death he worked at AGS, LLC as their Domestic Controller. He loved his job and spoke highly of his colleagues.
Bing is loved by many in Butte and Las Vegas. When Bing came to Butte, Uno’s was his first stop and would be packed with his many friends wanting to visit, but no visit was complete without a trip to the Big Hole. Bing was an avid traveler, with Hawaii holding many special memories. Bing will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity and quick wit.
Bing is survived by: His mother and father Lauralie and Bing Opie, brother Chris Opie, Dawn Opie, niece and nephew Gentry and Keaton Opie, Uncle and Aunt Bern and Jean Morgan, special friends Cory and Karen Steele, Meg Murphy, Polly Smith, Mike Kenison & Caroline Hawerton.
A life celebration will be planned at a future date.
Memorials in his name can be made to Montana Tech Scholarship Fund.
