A very special mermaid has gained her angel wings… Annalyn Jean Halvorsen was born October 2, 2009 to Lisa Rooney and Wayne Halvorsen. She came into this world fighting and never stopped.
She was an old soul with a gracious and mischievous heart. She enjoyed playing pranks, Halloween was her favorite holiday and she dreamed of being a mermaid. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend Mercedes and her doggie Bentley. Annalyn was calmed by and at peace anytime she could be in or near water. She was an avid rock collector. Most of all she loved her family and her beloved home, ‘Butte Montana’. She made the most of every day and had the extraordinary capacity of teaching life’s lessons while giving love, light and happiness to us all.
She was an honorary Junior Officer of the Butte Police Department and most recently a proud ‘4th grader’ at Whittier Elementary. She was an adopted member of the Blackfeet Nation and proudly spoke her Native Name, Thunder Woman. She never met a stranger and touched the hearts of many.
Annalyn is survived by her mom and dad, Lisa Rooney and Wayne Halvorsen, and big brother, Chance Halvorsen; grandparents, Joe and Nancy Brusati, and Jean Halvorsen; aunts and uncles, Gary and Stacey Rooney, Cherie and Mike Jackson, Vickie and Bob Bird, DJ Halvorsen, Ala Krzan and the entire Brusati clan, including the Renz, Schneiderhan, Hilbrands, Hoar, Schonsberg and Donnelly families; cousins, Corey, McKenzie and Heidi Halvorsen as well as Chris Jackson (Buffy)and their children Von and Kali), Zach Bird (Colette, and their daughter Charlotte), Beth Silver and her daughter Ellie), Eric Halvorsen (Bryann and their children Keaton, Tanyon, Kalista, Kamry and Tayson) Levi Halvorsen (Mary, and their children Toston, Chloe and Logan). She will also be missed by her Aunties of the Heart, Laura Williamson and Deb Mehring and families; and Paul ‘Paully’ Barrows, Alyssa Charboneau and Hannah Williamson who she considered her ‘siblings’.
She was Preceded in becoming an angel by her fraternal papa, Ed Halvorsen, and maternal grandpa, Walter Rooney.

I hope you can find some comfort in knowing she is in a better place and not suffering anymore. I pray for all of you. I can’t imagine what you are going through. A beautiful and precious mermaid…we can see her smiling, laughing and basking in the warm sun with all of her “friends” on the Oregon Coast. All of us at River Road Park District are sending our love and prayers for you and your family. Her visits brightened all of our day. and made all smile.

I never met Annalynn, but I knew Wayne very well from the Malmstrom daze. He was my best friend. I’m terribly sorry you have to go thru this. Better days are ahead, God bless.
